What is being slain in the Spirit?

The phenomenal occurs mostly in Pentecostal and Charismatic churches. A person falls down because of a move of God's Spirit either in the general assembly, or when hands are laid upon them by a particular person such as a preacher. Is it biblical?

Both Peter and Paul talked about being in a trance in Acts 10,11 and 22. Here is the Greek word :

    https://www.biblestudytools.com/lexi.../ekstasis.html

    Definition
any casting down of a thing from its proper place or state, displacement
a throwing of the mind out of its normal state, alienation of mind, whether such as makes a lunatic or that of a man who by some sudden emotion is transported as it were out of himself, so that in this rapt condition, although he is awake, his mind is drawn off from all surrounding objects and wholly fixed on things divine that he sees nothing but the forms and images lying within, and thinks that he perceives with his bodily eyes and ears realities shown him by God.
amazement, the state of one who, either owing to the importance or the novelty of an event, is thrown into a state of blended fear and wonderment

The Bible does show that people in the Scriptures fell down as a result of God's tangible presence.

This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke (Ezk 1:28).

So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face..."Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face...(Dan 8:17-18).

And when the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were much afraid (Mt 17:6).

And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as a dead man...(Rev 1:17).

These examples show these people fell forward or with their faces to the ground.

The meetings I've been in where God's spirit was moving, the people typically fell backwards, including me.

I usually kind of fold forward and end up on my face. There was one time a couple years ago that I pretty much flew forward. Surprised the heck out of the man who was praying for me.

Well, that settles it. Forward or backwards, you can't limit the Holy Spirit unless your full of unbelief.

In Bible times the people tend to lean forward when they prayed. Middle East way to pray.
However, we tend to throw our head back and lift both hands in a position that would cause us to fall back. Just sayin.

Or the preacher is ministering face-to-face then pushes the person and the person naturally falls backwards. That said, I've seen a man fall backwards with a stiff body and land flat on his back and head on half an inch of carpet and take no harm from it. I was skeptical at the time and was watching this closely and it looked like he slowed down just before he landed. There were no catchers present.
