Is it scriptiral for a woman to be a preacher?

I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence (1 Tim 2:12).
I think the key to this Scripture is "usurp authority".

Let me add that God has always used women (just as He has men), but He has used them within the order outlined in His word. With that, can anyone comment on this topic?

There are no words in Greek for husband, or for wife, only for man and for woman.

    Therefore context is key.

Usually it refers to a wife usurping authority over her husband.
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)

I was a pastor of a church that ordained 2 woman pastors many years ago so believe in women's ministries.
Women have the same access to the Holy Spirit as men and can operate in giftings and serve God and minister in many different areas

Women certainly need to be released and given leadership positions to those called but it still requires wisdom from the Holy Spirit.

Thank God for faithful committed women christians as they are the backbone of many churches

Like everything things can go to the other side of the pendulum and some christian woman now expect the churches to have a greater proportion of female pastoral positions and higher eldership roles - this comes from ego and pride as it's more like the world wanting the higher place of prominence

Paul didn't ordain female elders to be in charge of churches. We can't bend to political correctness to appease people. I know some churches have female senior pastors but I don't believe it's God's perfect best

One male pastor I know from a successful church out of wanting to be trendy placed women on his eldership board and I know those women and they are godly but they are not eldership called. He missed it but you can't tell him that.

It is becoming foolish in certain areas ..... I blame the male pastors for not rightly dividing the scriptures and succumbing to pc

I feel it is proper and scriptural for a woman to be a preacher of the Gospel, yet, there may be certain limitations that are imposed upon this calling. Failure to acknowledge those limitations could cause an imbalance in the plan of God resulting in difficulties and problems within the body of Christ.

    I also beleive that

This happened many years when I was at this particular church and our guest preacher was a well known travelling female speaker. She said some good things but said some dumb things.
Problem is it gets some of christian women all excited about foolish notions instead of sticking to scripture.

If it was a once off it wouldn't be a problem but this same speaker has said other dumb things and seems unaccountable

Yes, I understand what is being said here TT; "unaccountable". I don't know what structure of accountability she served under, but I know its clear in scripture that God's divine order and plan for the man is to be the head of the family---and to be head of God's work on earth. As far as accountability for a woman preacher, I think it is wise (if not required) to be under the leadership of the husband, or that of a higher authority such as a board or leadership panel. If dumb things were spoken, or error was mistakenly made, there is counsel and correction available from those to whom she is accountable.

We had a female travelling prophetic minister who was accurate and we liked her and was doing some ministry for us.

Then one of our female pastors had to ask her to do something which was minor and no big deal and the female travelling minister reacted in a carnal way
This female pastor told us about it and did not want to deal with her after that

The travelling prophetic minister basically didn't want to submit but the irony was she reacted to another female minister - it caused contention

Even though it was Eve who failed and suffered the terrible consequences at the fall (Adam included and the future human race). She was the weaker vessel whom satan originally targeted first in the garden. Yet it was Adam, not Eve, whom God called for an accounting. The reason so, Adam was in charge. If a female guest speaker is ministering at a church, the senior pastor (preferably a male) should address or confront the guest speaker if issues arise. This should be done by the pastor regardless if the guest preacher is a man or woman.
