Well there ARE more male preachers period, so that would stand to reason.

I guess there NEVER was a "well known traveling male speaker who said some "dumb things."

I wouldn't put this pastor in the category of being a dumb preacher. More bold than most, but not dumb.

Problem is it gets some of christian women all excited about foolish notions instead of sticking to scripture.
If it was a once off it wouldn't be a problem but this same speaker has said other dumb things and seems unaccountable

Glad you cleared that up. When I read the first one, I thought, "Yaaaaa..... men preachers NEVER say anything dumb."

I get so tired of this.
Why can't ALL of God's people just be allowed to do what HE'S called them to do?

We will never part as enemies...I like you too much
but if you read carefully my comments I said there were dumb male preachers and never said women can't be ministers just that there are conditions to being an elder and a senior pastor
btw I was liked a lot by the females I pastored because I treated everyone fairly

I am addressing the specific role of women as that is what the OP asked.
I agree with you that everyone should do what they are called and God does have a ministry for all but when you pastor you see many wanting specific ministries not always because of God's call but their desire for prominence.
Male and female Christians even though they love the Lord can still be motivated by natural and carnal desires like anyone including ministers.
It used to be only men who wanted positions of authority and sometimes you have to say I believe God has a ministry for you but not necessarily full time preaching.
Nowadays it also includes females in the church who crave a position of authority because they see more females ministering. There still has to be some wisdom in hearing from God in all this.
We still have to be discerning as the feminist spirit of usurping still operates in the church as it does in the world

BTW you can preach on the street, prisons, nursing homes, visitation etc etc. and this is open to everyone male and female.
What happens is many don't want to preach outside the church, what they are really saying is ...'Give me a pulpit to preach to people at church'
If you tell that to some Christian women they get upset because they want the title and prominence....all can preach outside the church walls

I think the key to this Scripture is "usurp authority".
Let me add that God has always used women (just as He has men), but He has used them within the order outlined in His word. With that, can anyone comment on this topic?
We have a fundamental in scripture :
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
That doesn't work with a marriage because the roles there are gender related, a husband cannot take on the role as wife or mother and vice versa. A church and ministry is spiritual in nature per default and gender issues arise mainly from issues that are human in nature, like Corinthian women going from one extreme of submission to men and to lording it over men, using their newfound freedom carnally.
I find it quite interesting that arguably the most powerful precursor of the Pentecostal revival was a woman, Maria Woodworth-Etter. And that during a time when woman preachers were frowned upon in general. What was God thinking ?
