That would be a longer discussion worthy of its own thread so here it is. What is your theory on it Kelly?

Dinosaurs simply devolved into lawn lizards and birds or were unable to reproduce.

They were "unclean", therefore only one pair was on the ark and we all know how inbreeding works...not very well.

    Well......here's my thoughts.
We know there were a lot of changes that happened to the creation due to the fall of man, the entrance of sin.

Dealing with plantlife we know that all of a sudden there were thorns, thistles, briers, poisonous plants. And with the animals, they didn't eat each other until after the changes occurred.

So my theory would be that due to changes in climate, edible vegetation and even destruction caused by falling meteorites all had a hand in their extinction.

Now as to why they aren't mentioned in the old testament.....
I think at the time the books were being written the people didn't really know about the very large, reptilian beasts that once roamed. We know the Holy Spirit authored the writings of the Bible, perhaps He thought it wasn't really important for us to know...although they aren't named directly neither are beasts like cows and horses and tigers and things like that. Maybe they were originally included in "the beasts that roam the earth"

I can agree with that...however as to this part:

So my theory would be that due to changes in climate, edible vegetation and even destruction caused by falling meteorites all had a hand in their extinction.
I believe the GAP theory is credible and that there most likely was a prior pre-adamite race on earth before humans were created...and that it is also quite possible that when satan and his followers were cast down their fall may have created that climate change that blocked the sun, caused an ice age and killed off most of the living things that were on the earth.

The descriptions of Leviathan and Behemoth in the last chapters of the book of Job sound similar to the crocodile and the hippo but the descriptions of how they are impregnable to most weapons of that time suggest that they are large dinosaurs. Considering that the genealogies have gaps it is possible that they were contemporary to Job and that Job lived after the flood but way before Abraham, possibly tens or hundreds of thousands of years.

I believe in an old earth and possibly the gap as well. I think the dinosaurs have been gone a long time. I think the answers above pretty much answer the question for me.
