Thread: in the beginning

    in the beginning

I love how God was the fastest architect that has ever existed. Who do you know could create everything that has been created in 6 days time? But I do have a few questions and I would love to get some input.

    - how come Eve didnt think it was so strange that a serpent was talking to her?

    - if it were you, wouldn't you rather choose the tree of life over knowledge of good and evil?

    - where do the dinosaurs fit in? We know they existed but how come they aren't mentioned in the Bible?

    One more doozie....

    - where did the other people come from? Seth had to go find himself a wife and start a line of his own...so did Cain.

    What do you think?

Just my opinion, but I bet ALL of the animals talked in the Garden, before the fall - Plus, the serpent wasn't a creepy, slithering snake before he was cursed either - He was probably a very attractive creature.

I do not believe it was a literal conversation with vocal cords...The serpent is described as shrewd and is the same word translated 'naked' after the fall. So the implication is the serpent was used by Satan who also knew good and evil...the only creature in the garden it would seem who did..

Secondly Eve was OPEN to the realm of the spirit as she and Adam daily walked with and communed with God in the garden...

I conclude that Eve's communication was spiritual in nature...not one of human verbalization. There is zero evidence of talking animals apart from spiritual intervention, as God with the donkey...there is no indication satan had the creative power to make an animal speak as with vocal cords...

Adam lived 930 years...we do not know how many children and children's children had been born before Seth or after him...Eve could have had over 900 children and if each of them had 500 children ect there could have been thousands of people at the time Seth chose a wife...

As for what would be my choice? Well we know hindsight is 20/20 and we also know at times in our life knowing what we know we STILL make sinful choices...

Rev 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

The NT sheds light on the OT and tells us that the serpent was Satan. What he looked like and what Eve thought that was supposed to mean it doesn't say but she obviously didn't think he was evil. Her sin was in agreeing to disregard God's command not to eat of the tree.

I got to thinking this morning about "the tree of life" question I had asked. You know....I guess I have chosen the tree of life. I am born again, believing on Jesus as my savior I have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside me....I have eternal life now! Hallelujah!

here's a great example of how patient and slow to anger our God really is....
Gen. 18 starting with verse 24.
Abram (aka Abraham) knows his nephew Lot resides in Sodom and he has just been informed by the Lord that it will be utterly destroyed.
He asked God 6 times! 6 times!....about if there were 50 righteous people. ..would He destroy them....he goes all the way down the number line to "if there were 10 righteous people ".
I couldn't help but to laugh when I read that the Lord finally left. There's no way I would have been that patient with him....go ahead and read it for yourself.
Brings new meaning to patience is a virtue

    Im wondering. ..
Did it ever rain on the earth before the flood or were plants watered by the dew that would form on the ground?
    Thoughts?
