Thread: How could Noah's Ark hold all those animals?

How could Noah's Ark hold all those animals?

This was touched on in another thread. How could all those animals fit on the ark? How did they feed them and clean up after them? How come they didn't eat each other? Any ideas?

No idea unless the whole thing was utterly supernatural which would seem to defy the purpose. Or elements are less than literal. Ararat is the highest mountain in the region but not in the world etc. That account is the most puzzling in the Bible, to me.

It being supernatural would defy what purpose?

To me it was obviously a supernatural thing, since of course it had to be supernatural for all those animals to come to that one place and get on the boat.

Now to think about it, the animal thing could seem to be support for LCash's theory that the flood was regional, not global. Every animal species alive obviously couldn't have been on the boat or gotten to the boat. Not to mention the flood was judgement and there were no people living anywhere else in the world to kill anyway.

It defies the purpose if every single detail was supernatural, then God could as well have let them float in the air or something. It just seems far fetched if there is no natural component to it. It doesn't mean that I've rejected it, it just means that I don't have that many good answers. Regional definitely implies that the account is less than literal and then the possibilities are numerous.

Seems to me God used both supernatural and natural to fulfill His plan...He could have also just spoke death to all of them but Noah and his family..or rained down fire and brimstone...but God often used both..He sent angels to lead out LOT...He sent Jonah to Ninevah...
Personally I believe the account is literal..God's rainbow is not just seen in that part of the world...it's seen everywhere at various times and contains the same message, He will not destroy the earth with water again..

    Genesis 9:12-13English Standard Version (ESV)

12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: 13 I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
