Does old testament bible prophecy specify that Jesus would die on a cross?

I was thinking about this and could not think of a specific passage that said it was going to be on a cross.

    Just wondering.

Other than by type, I'm not sure....

    Numbers 21:9
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

    John 3:14
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

    Galatians 3:13
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)

The more I have inquired, and thought upon it, I would venture to say "no", that it is not spelled out specifically.

Mainly because of this and other similar passages...

    I Corinthians 2:7-8
    (7) But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
    (8) Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)

Gal 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree")

Deut 21:22 "If a man has committed a sin deserving of death, and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, 23 his body shall not remain overnight on the tree, but you shall surely bury him that day, so that you do not defile the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance; for he who is hanged is accursed of God.

I don't know of a specific reference to the Messiah dying on a tree or a cross though.
