In today's message we will be looking at the false but popular cliche, "God moves in mysterious ways / His wonders to perform." You will see how the devil has used this idea to get our minds away from the principle of victory outlined in Scripture and have moved us towards passivism. You simply do NOT want to miss this series of teachings on powerless cliches.

You will see how this presents God as an insecure control-freak while also preventing us from fulfilling our God-given responsibilities. You know, 'God is in control' can cause all sorts of false doctrine (of course Calvinists won't think what I'm about to say is false doctrine).
Say your kid is sick, and you live by 'God is in control', then when the kid dies, your doctrine becomes that it's not God's will to heal all. Your doctrine was formed by the circumstance and not what the Word says. We become hearers of the Word and not doers (which would be believing God specifically for healing, etc) and then we 'deceive your own selves' as James said. As opposed to seeing it's His will, and if it doesn't happen, seeking him on why instead of 'blaming' Him.
Bill Johnson said something one time along the lines of 'God is in charge but He is not in control. He has left us in control' which of course speaks to the authority God has placed in us. Most of the church's doctrine comes from their 'failures' and not based on the Word.

I'll amen this. When do christians most often use that saying "God is in control"? When bad hits them between the lookers. If only they knew that what they are quoting against is a harvest of bad seed they planted years before. Or, when our fixation (OCD-more like) on everything in good order, running smoothly is interrupted as if God is supposed to keep our lives all peachy-keen. They have no clue what the Bible means where Jesus said "in this world you WILL HAVE TROUBLE".
