God told me a couple of months ago to cut off the processed sugars and drink more water. Amazing how much a difference this has made in relation to health and energy.

    That’s my main challenge...sugar.

Wow! That's it exactly! We are sooo spoiled!

We automatically follow formulas and while they may be Biblical (lay hands, anoint with oil, pray, rebuke sickness), there were times when the Father led Jesus to do other things like make spitty mud pies, send lepers to the priest, and other things we might think weird or strange.

We may be following formulas rather than spending time in intimate relationship with Father God (I am endeavoring to do more of that with Him). We may also fail to fast more often. We westerners love our food. We also may be lacking the compassion that Jesus had. Jesus genuinely LOVED the people He healed. Sometimes we want God to heal through us so that we can have something to brag about. It is not always genuine compassion that wants to see people relieved of their suffering.

Finally, I hear more of supernatural healings taking place outside of Europe and the USA. Perhaps there is a desperation in poorer countries than what you find in more materially prosperous nations. Poorer countries can't go to a minister and say, "pray for me" while secretly saying to themselves, "If this doesn't work my health insurance can cover the surgery I'll need and the medicine I can get." These people have no choice BUT to rely on God for a miracle. Even many of the poorest Americans can go to the free clinic and get some drugs and a shot in the butt.

It seems to be the problem with a lot of people. My wife was telling me a funny story she heard Jesse Duplantis tell about him and his wife struggle with sugar addiction (don't want to type it all here though but it had something to do with chocolate cake). But I have told people that I understand what addiction is even though I have never done drugs - unless one counts sugar as a drug (and some have argued that it is. I might agree).

Amen...I believe it’s just as addictive as drugs, and has to be attacked just as vigorously.

I think the best way is to eat foods that have the opposite effect to offset the effect the sugar has. A lot of vegetables, lentils, beans and fruit instead of the usual starchy carbohydrates. That will take down the sugar high and eliminate the sugar rollercoaster.

Eating a lot of loaf, white rice and fine pastry without much actual sugar in it can have the same effect.
