    Apparently, 2016 wasn't finished yet as the actor who played Father Mulcahey on MASH died on Dec. 31.

    But that's quite the list!

    Actor William Christopher, Father Mulcahy on ‘MASH,’ dies at 84

    PASADENA >> William Christopher, the actor best known for playing Father Francis Mulcahy on the hit series “MASH” has died at 84 in his Pasadena home, according to multiple media reports.

    Christopher began his acting career on stage in New York City in a number of off-Broadway productions that eventually led to Broadway shows.

    But it was “MASH” that made Christopher famous, as he appeared in more than 200 episodes of the smash series. A Methodist off-camera, Christopher played the kindly Catholic priest from 1972 to 1983.

    Christopher also appeared in a short-lived MASH spinoff, “After MASH.” His other notable credits included guest shots on “Hogan’s Heroes,” “Gomer Pyle,” “That Girl,” and “Columbo,” He also played Fr. Tobias on the soap, “Days of Our Lives,” in 2012.

    Christopher had roles in a number of other movies, including, “The Fortune Cookie,” “The Private Navy of Sgt. O’Farrell,” “The Shakiest Gun in the West,” “With Six You Get Eggroll,” and “Hearts of the West.”

    Christopher was also well-known for his charity work, particularly for research into autism, which affects one of his sons.

    He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and two sons, John and Ned.

    Christopher’s agent Robert Malcom said the actor died at 5:10 a.m. Saturday at his home in Pasadena, California. He tells The Associated Press that Christopher’s wife says her husband died peacefully.

    I still watch MASH some. I liked his character.

    Frank Burns made that show for me...it needed someone to mock and he played it brilliantly

    Alan Alda after a few seasons became a self righteous pain and I didn't like his character even though he could still make you laugh

    After Henry, Frank and Trapper left imo it went down
