Saw that on the news yesterday - I don't blame the guy at all.

I'm not a pet owner, but if that 'Roo was attacking a child, I would have tried to slay it too!

I'ts rare for a roo to attack humans especially children

The roo grabbed the dog because it felt threatened as the dog got too close. The guy works at a zoo and he really didn't need to punch it as he knows better. Alot of people are upset with him.

If the roo was aggressive and attacked then that would be different but the roo was defensive because of the dog.

The dog turns it head to look at its owner quite freely, it doesn't look like it's particularly uncomfortable with the strange hold the kangaroo has on it.

Those dogs are tough they were pig hunting....I think the dog was more surprised than scared

Dingoes which are the native dogs hunt roos so its not unusual for the roo to be on the offensive around a dog

Roos are smart and if chased by dogs will go into water and try to drown the dog.....this was first observed by early settlers when native dog the dingo attacked roos

Do they bite or just use their paws to fight the dogs? Who wins--the dog or the kangaroo?

They don't bite. Their paws can scratch and hurt but that is not the dangerous part.

What they do is grab you with their paws, balance on their strong tail and raise their large legs and kick you. They can cause alot of damage by doing that as they have nails and kick powerfully

This is a sample of what they do....they are more play fighting here but you can see if they kick hard it will hurt and can rip open flesh
