I'm reading some posts on FB on his page, and I'm not seeing anyone comment on any apostasy or bringing up his statements on Jesus...

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt so far. I see that on that site, but just doesn't seem right or something.

I'm glad you weighed in like that, Fuego. I won't feel like the only way saying I agree with him on some points.

I hope you are right. I was in a service where he was the keynote speaker and he was outstanding. This was probably 7-8 yrs ago.
But when you see (on facebook) Carlton Pearson commending him for this, it makes you wonder what's going on

Yes, this is where rebellion comes in very handy, to know how to rebel is actually a good thing!
IF we understand that we should cling to what God's Word teaches, and rebel against that which is in opposition to what God teaches.
I know some Christians now that the Lord won't allow me to talk to much (other than saying hi as they go by) because I like to talk about God's Word and that will offend a growing number of folks who call themselves Christians.
This is what happens when people make idols out of TV preachers and start accepting what they say without judging their doctrine against what scripture teaches.
I don't get the "about face"
If you are going to be popular... you must go with the crowd.
If you do not go with the crowd, they'll brand you a hater and a racist.... even when it's not a racial issue, they just love calling people racists.

Here's a recent interview with him from the Christian Post which sounds 'normal':

Yeah, those questionable quotes bother me a little bit, it just doesn't make sense to me. Kirk has almost always stirred the pot in terms of his music, kinda going 'out the box' in a more contemporary way, but to deny (almost blaspheme) the bedrock tenet of Christianity, is a little suspect. I would hope either he or his pastor (I assume it is Tony Evans), or someone close to him would come forward and give an explanation.
