Marian Catholics and Jesus oriented Catholics can be extremely different. A Mary devotee is highly unlikely to be born again, it's practically idol worship. I got a Catholic from Poland baptized in the Holy Spirit a few weeks ago here in Norway, she had believed in Jesus all her life. She was definitely not a Marian.
Some doctrine related to Mary is optional within the RCC. Mary as co-redeemer along with Jesus hasn't been declared official doctrine but it's tolerated. That should tell you something about the internal divide.

A Church History video I watched recently said that the Mary worship started in Ephesus which had been the centre of the worship of Diana / Artemis. From what I've read the catholic church is willing to absorb most religious practices as long as the people will use Biblical names. Within a generation people then think it is Biblical.

I remember years ago knowing a Catholic woman who received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and claimed praying in tongues brought her closer to Mary. Yikes.

Yikes, indeed. So many are trapped in this religious darkness.

There was a story about a Marian church that came to embrace the HSB then later they turned even more Marian, claiming that the HSB had brought them even closer to Mary. I can only guess as to whether they received something genuine then lost it becoming like the dog that returned to its vomit or if it was just a religious thing that never had anything to do with the reality of the HSB.

And things like that are why mainstream churches are weary of Charismatics.
In John 16:13 Jesus says "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come", yet you have people who claim to be HSB, spirit-led, saying things like the above; believing people who say they can control the HS by waving their coat around; claiming they can kill viruses with what they say; claiming that God wants you wealthy and to have an easy relaxed life; and from 2 weeks ago this (which I hope is not true):
Listeners of Bethel Church's Transformation Now series were treated with a sight not usually seen when prophetess Marlene Barrett, in a bid to end racism within Bethel and the Ekklesia movement, whipped out a wizard staff- a sure sign that some tomfoolery was afoot. There, on stage, she led Bill Johnson and others through a ritual incantation to cast out the demon of racism by prophetically reenacting a scene from Lord of The Rings. No joke.

You started a new thread about the last link, why take it up here too, in a RCC thread ? Have you started a general anti-Charismatic campaign ?

Some might miss it here.
Catholics are off the mark.
Bethel is off the mark there too.
Deception only comes from one place.
