    Catholics are off the mark.
Bethel is off the mark there too.

Deception only comes from one place.
So if I can find some Calvinist preacher who is or was off the mark with something then Calvinists are deceived by the devil ?

We all make errors. Just depends on how far of the mark they are.

Like waving a coat instead of passing out handkerchiefs ?

Acts 19:11 Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul,
12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.

I've never even heard of that until now. That particular thing hardly is an evidence of what you said.

Having said that, some Charismatic churches and Charismatics do have their quirks. But it still doesn't negate the FACT that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is available today for EVERY Christian and is a separate experience from being born again and that the gifts of the Spirit are for today and the power of God is still available today just like it was in the gospels and the book of Acts and anyone that denies is has error in their doctrine.

And I'm sure I have error in my doctrine in places, but what I posted above ain't one of them.

    I'd agree with that.

Nine weeks ago I resigned from the church I was saved in 47 years ago. Yesterday the person who is the Seniors' pastoral care bloke finally found out and called me. We spoke on why I left and one of the things mentioned was along the lines of there actually being anywhere different to go to and maybe there isn't. In the last 50 years mainstream churches have got a little livelier and Charismatic churches have toned down. My ex-church (which brought the BHS to the area) is now registered as a community centre, and I didn't seen the gifts operate in a service in the last 15 or so years.

Sure we all have quirks, but swinging coats (I'll post a video elsewhere), claiming to speak to viruses (boy did he get that wrong), claiming to deal with supposed demons based on LOTR rather than the Bible, to me isn't a quirk, and is as far away from the Bible as are RCs who claim that kneeling down in front of a statue which they've garnished with flowers and kisses, praying rote prayers over and over again, is not idolatry, is not worshipping Mary.

And the only reason why either end of the above scale exists is because people flock to it, and the shepherds aren't protecting their sheep.

You really think Paul acted like this?

Well they did take cloths from Paul's body. And that coat (cloth) has been on Benny's body. So just a little difference in administering the 'cloth'. :)

    I'm glad that ended with a :)

Pity Paul didn't have LOTR to read when he was in prison; would have made Scripture a lot more interesting (but that's another thread).

Paul quoted lots of stuff from secular authors, should we call him a pagan for doing that ?

Titus 1:12 One of them, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."
    13 This testimony is true.

Could you please point out the concrete sin involved in what he is doing ?
