Again?? He cant make up his mind. Jack Hayford pulled Benny aside circa ‘94 to appeal to Hinn’s flamboyance and certain other things. As a result, Benny appeared on TBN’s nightly show to confess his laying down the prosperity gospel teaching. Yup, he repented. He even let his hair go, apparently repenting of the fancy “do”. This was 1994 or 95. I’m not bashing Benny here but I am wondering if he will just hold course.

Maybe it means that he will get rid of the offering salesmen. God TV had those on a lot too until a few years ago but now they seem to be gone.

He may have just reached the age or gotten the revelation that "things" are meaningless. I'm talking more about the opulent things, not the necessary.

The type of private Gulf Stream he has is worth 36 million. I read where his estimated worth is 42 million. He lives in a very exclusive area in California overlooking the pacific where homes start at 20 million & up. I guess it’s easy to preach against prosperity now uh? Or is it because his crowds have trickled to the point where he wouldn’t be able to raise million dollar offerings anymore? I am not one bit jealous of anything he has or anyone for that matter. But a lot of people are going to believe he got it from the very fleecing he is now renouncing. I know these types of ministries are not going over well anymore with a lot of people especially the millennials. It seems a lot of ministries are picking up on it and changing tactics.
I have been in many services where they had $1000 lines. Then they would chisel it down to a $500, $250, $100 lines, all the way down to $20. I never felt totally comfortable with it personally. I was in one service where they had a $50 prophetic line. If you gave $50, you would get a word from the lord from the prophet. I am not kidding. The line was clear out the door. I got up and left.

I believe I heard him say a few years ago that he was flying commercial again.

And that is the wickedness in the house of God that is now being judged. I’m not sure those “tactics” you had mentioned will work for them.

    My thoughts exactly, Brother.

Edited to Add: Hubby and I attend 2 of his "Crusades" back in the day, but we were turned off, disappointed, and disillusioned when we saw the "workers" turn the people on hospital beds and in wheel chairs away, as they brought the people with lesser illnesses on stage to be "healed."

Maybe he'll have a reverse praise-a-thon to give away all his stuff. Child of God, pick up that phone so I can bless YOU!

I wrote about Benny Hinn years ago on my blog. Here's what he said in an interview with Charisma in August of 1993, two months after Christianity in Crisis came out.

"My feelings about prosperity began changing when I was in Manila earlier this year. Some of the most precious Christians live there amid such poverty, such need. Yet you see such satisfaction, such fulfillment with them. They are happier than many Christians I know in America who have everything. We had spent about $100,000 on the crusade there, and we needed to take up an offering to cover expenses. But I looked at those dear people and said, 'God, I can't do this.' I couldn't teach prosperity there like I had in the United States. And I've decided if you can't teach the prosperity message everywhere, then something is wrong with it."

    Color me cynical.
