We have a close family friend who went to 40 of BHs crusades (yes,40) starting back in the early 90s. He was a business owner and could afforded to trail around to a lot of his events. I went to a couple of them with him, one was out of state. He is what could be called a “Benny-ite” He would even take his congregation when they had it in Oakland. I can’t deny anything I felt, but even this guy, toward the end (before the Paula ordeal) completely stopped going. It got to be where they would spend close to 2 hours taking up offerings with Clarence McClenddon and other TBN hustlers.

I had forgot all about Clarence McClendon. Now that TBN doesn't have the same people on there as Paul Sr. did, I forgot all about him. Never cared for him anyway. thanks for the post Pentecali.

Tithing, the way it is taught in most churches, or at least many, is as big a sham as the "$1000 seed offering/passover offering/get this need met offering", etc, etc, etc. It creates false expectations that aren't scriptural under the new covenant. Jesus opened the windows of heaven for us and it all belongs to us now as sons and daughters accessible by faith. We are no longer limited to just a return on giving. Living in sonship by faith and realizing you are a son and not a sharecropper and that you own the fields you are working in is much greater principle than sowing and reaping where finances are concerned. I am not limited to what I can sow. Just be generous and led by the Holy Spirit.

Clarence, Steve Munsey, etc. I hope they're done with that stuff.

Daniel Kolenda talks about offerings, giving and tithing in the "light the fire again" video that you linked a few days ago. From about 1 hour 20 minutes and a few minutes on.

Fair enough , so you believe in the prosperity gospel you just dont believe in Tithing (As Taught by many churches stoday) and Telethon type giving and pledging ..

Believe it or not I agree .. tithing is not for everybody neither is pledging partnership telethons as is often presented today . As Paul made clear to the Phillipians its if for those who understand it , are mature about it and are cheerful and willful about operating in this grace.

OTOH he exempted the corinthians from it since he didn't think they were ready for it ...

The good thing about God is he is a come and get as much as you want kind of God so if folks choose to exempt themselves that's fine ..

Problem now is that Benny Hinn with his reckless mouth now has everybody throwing babies out with the bath water but its all good

The Philippians were giving to the poor in Jerusalem and there's no mention of tithing ?

Yeah, no mention of tithing. Maybe BAP is referring to them being ready for partnership instead of tithing when he mentions they were ready for it.
