There is a passage in 1 Timothy that condemns homosexuality. Paul said the law was made "for murderous, for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine" (1 Tim 1:9-10). The word "perverts" is a broader word for sexual sins other than "adultery." It includes homosexual acts and is even translated "sodomites" (NKJV) or "homosexuals" (NASB). The context in which it is used and the other sins with which it is listed demonstrate the severity of the sin of sodomy. Jude's letter calls homosexuality a perversion. Mentioned are Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns which gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who will suffer the punishment of eternal fire" (v.7). Jude leaves little doubt about the sexual nature of Sodom's sin and God's attitude towards the homosexual acts those people performed.

Homosexuality is unnatural. It is contrary to the natural use of one's sexuality. No one was born out of a homosexual union, and no one was born a homosexual. Certain persons became homosexuals along their life line. Homosexual behavior is not normal behavior. Only a small fraction of the population (about 2 to 4 %) have this abnormal behavior. There is ex-homosexuals testimony that they were recruited to this lifestyle and have since left it for normal heterosexual relations and to raise families. Heterosexuality is absolutely essential to the continuance of the race. Without it the whole race would become extinct in one generation, and in this sense homosexuality is a threat to the continuance of the human race. For these reasons it is clear that homosexuality is not a normal condition.

Homosexual practices are contrary to God's ordained pattern for human beings. From the beginning to the end of the Bible, the sin of Sodom is consistently and repeatedly condemned in the strongest terms. How could "sodomy" be looked at as an "alternate lifestyle" when Scripture speaks out explicitly and forcefully against homosexual practices? Not only was it a capital offense in the Old Testament, but Paul declared that no practicing homosexual will inherit the kingdom of God. In conclusion, any God fearing Christian, pastor, teacher, leader, and church should understand that homosexuals practices must fall under the category of unnatural, impure, indecent, perverse, an abomination, and sexual deviant behavior.

Nonetheless, as Christians we should love the sinner, even though we hate the sinner's sin. Thus we should reach out in love to win homosexuals to Christ, who loves them and died for them. Total rejection of them as persons only drives them further into their sin. Love reaches out to people, no matter how deep they are bound in sin; it does not reject them. Homosexuals need compassion as persons, not condemnation.
If you put God First, you have Him at Last.

Good point. And some of them have a more destructive effect on society as a whole. I believe the whole LGBTQ and what other letters there are fall into that category.

Many of the condemnations of homosexuality in the Bible are general, some refer to specific roles - for instance prostitutes in idol temples. The acts that brought judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah were a bit more elaborate though. They involved not only homosexuality but also forceful rape of people who didn't commit such acts to begin with. Many evangelicals tend to portray the judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah as a generalized judgment against homosexual acts, which is simply wrong.

In many areas where people tend to be strongly against homosexuality there's a level of confusion about what that refers to. In Africa many mix homosexuality and man-boy pedophilia into the same concept. This was also the case here in Norway 70 years ago when "homosexuality" was voted number 7 on a list of deplorable acts. There was also some confusion about the nature of homosexual acts. At one time it was sufficiently difficult for a homosexual to find an other homosexual who would consent to having sex that it was as likely that any homosexual act committed involved either forceful rape or outright manipulation and the latter category was likely to involve minors/children. Not necessarily pre-adolescents but at least boys that the homosexual found it easier to manipulate and dominate. There's a Scandinavian word that's no longer used for homosexual men that has that connotation inbuilt, that of someone who works hard to sway other men into participating in homosexual acts and who is therefore dangerous.

If one removes the prostitutes, the rapists, the manipulators, the pseudo-pedophiles and the outright pedophiles then the picture becomes different. It's still a perversion but there are many more aspects involved than the basic perversion and God will judge accordingly.

Seattle's summer tourist slogan this year is "Visit America's Most Beautiful City."
I would change that to "America's Most Wicked City."
I grew up there and now I live 22 miles north of Seattle in Everett.
Although Everett has a gay community, it doesn't rival in comparison to Seattle's homosexual landscape.
Homosexuality runs rampant throughout the entire city. https://www.gaytravel.com/gay-guides/seattle
Former Mayor Ed Murry was a homosexual. http://www.newnownext.com/sexual-abu...attle/04/2017/
Current Mayor Jenny Durkan is a lesbian. https://www.towleroad.com/2017/11/jenny-durkan-lesbian/
When I was a kid in Seattle, sure, the city had it's problems, but it was not a homosexual city back then as it is today.
The sin of homosexuality has spread to most if not all of America's major cities with their gay pride parade being one of the highlight events of the year.

One of the blasphemers I talked to on some site dedicated to that about 20 years ago was from Seattle. I'm not sure if he was the homosexual one, one of the about five men that frequented the site was.

Something that nobody has mentioned is that the article was written by Pulpit and Pen, the most disgusting, unethical excuse for a discernment ministry on the face of the earth. They even admitted in the article that they're witch hunting. I'm not a fan of Beth Moore, but I'd need to see something more than a juvenile polemic written by this site. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NC1LN5UlTA

Posters should be more careful with what kind of sites they post material from. Things may turn into a collection of what heresty hunter sites think of Charismatics, especially the ones they can find non-theological fault with. The spirit of their articles are sometimes as bad as the spirit of articles written by dedicated anti-Christians. Some of the heresy hunters aren't Christians at all but are driven by religious demons. What may seem juvenile may in reality be demonic in nature.
