This was interesting and enlightening for me.

I always thought that the Greek Orthodox/Eastern Orthodox church was just like Catholicism. Boy was I wrong! Very good interview with this priest.

I haven't watched the video yet, and this may be a good pastor and church, but I went into a Greek Orthodox church in Charlotte one time, and it was very ornate, etc, and my wife and I both felt a huge spirit of oppression right when we walked in.

Their theology is closer to ours but they can be very religious. Some are into the worship of icons and saints just like some Catholics worship Mary, whether they call it worship or just "veneration".

He was saying that their icons are historical. It is what they used to teach their congregations before scripture. They claim that they have been around since the day of Pentecost, and that these icons are how they passed on the oral teachings of the apostles.

Right towards the end when Mat is setting down to interview him is where I found disagreement. I do not believe in infant baptism for one thing. And his grasp on Hell doesn't seem to line up with the teachings of scripture either.

Well I'm not so sure the non-icon-worshipping kind is any worse than many of the historical Protestant denominations. They certainly have less extra-biblical baggage than the RCC does.
