Kenneth Copeland making no sense whatsoever

What is biblical and what is not biblical prosperity teaching is one thing but the following is out of this world :

Either he's completely taken by a spirit of unification with the RCC or he's not thinking at all.

Either way he makes zero sense. Totally appalling coming from someone who's supposed to be an anointed man of God, a leader of a movement that's supposed to establish truth. Rather than some vip minister who's found some new buddies from the upper echelons of some other "ministry" that he's hanging out with - hopefully for a little while rather than forever.

The church split he's talking about that was 500 years ago was the "about face, turning away" from the heretical key doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church of which both inside and outside the church continue to be practiced by millions of Catholics around the world.

He mentioned "until we all come to the unity of faith" acknowledging "the main separating spirit of division was pulled down."

It is clear from scripture that practicing "unity" with those who embrace heretical teaching is heretical in itself. Division will always be created with those who stand on and practice "sound doctrine" verses those hold adhere to and practice "false doctrine." The two cannot be intertwined to create harmony amongst two separate religious groups for the purpose of unity.

For instance, I find it impossible to accept RCC doctrine when my scriptural beliefs are completely contrary to what the Catholic institution believes and teaches. And I will not compromise the "truth" for the sake of "Ecclesiastical Unity" because other protestant clergy says "the division of unity was pulled down."

I don't believe in nor practice:

The Mass as a daily celebration.

Prayers for the dead and prayers to Mary and dead saints.

    Canonization of dead saints.

    Extreme Unction (Last Rites).

The exaltation of Mary and her bodily ascension into heaven upon her death.

Worship of cross, images and relics.

    Use of the rosary.

    Doctrines of Purgatory.

    Adoration of the wafer.

Doctrine of the Seven Sacraments confirmed.

Church Tradition declared of equal authority with the Bible.

Infallibility of the Pope in matters of faith and morals.

Mary proclaimed Mother of the Church.

It is clear that we are in the "end times" and there are spiritual (dark) forces at work to create a one world religion where all faiths unite for the purpose of unity and harmony. Those who will not "submit" to the future one world religion will be branded as "outcasts" and will suffer dire consequences for refusing to compromise their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

You're saying the same things that Torben Søndergaard says here :

The video also gives some more background on the 1999 meeting that Copeland is talking about where the RCC had the Lutheran denomination agree to a statement on "salvation by grace through faith unto good works" that a bishop Tony Palmer is trying to have Pentecostal/Charismatics including Copeland agree to. That's a funny fusion of RCC and Lutheran doctrine that I think no pope before say 1900 would have agreed on. The statement doesn't discuss all the other problems with the RCC, including the idea that the RCC is "the original church" rather than an organization that is an usurper to that role.

Let's hope that the video in the OP amounts to Copeland having a fit of stupidity rather than Pentecostal/Charismatics that don't even have a RCC background suddenly finding themselves under the influence of the RCC in some way. Let's hope it means very little in practical terms.

A very famous Scandinavian WoF pastor named Ulf Ekman converted to Catholicism several years ago and it came as a shock. It's a Charismatic version of Catholicism but it's one that is under the pope in Rome. Let's hope that there isn't a pattern here with Charismatics forgetting about or abandoning their Protestant roots back through John Wesley to the Reformation and becoming some sort of mystical division of the RCC.

Not all church splits are bad. The Reformation (as said) needed to occur. I (in that regard) protest indulgences of the erroneous teachings and in particular, Marianism.

What Copeland refers to as "the greatest church split in history" wasn't at all. The Reformation was a movement that started from nothing, there was no large group of RCC churches that suddenly decided to become Lutheran churches instead.

What was actually "the greatest church split in history" came five hundred years before the Reformation, in 1054. That's when the Catholic Church split into the RCC and the Eastern Orthodox church, with seats in Rome and in Constantinople respectively.

Actually, I would agree that the spirit of Division and Hatred was definitely involved in the whole Reformation process, looking at the horrifying culmination of the 30 years war.

But that is not to excuse the RCC from its heretical beliefs and practices listed above.

What should have been a self- correcting internal reformation was doomed from RCC corruption and sense of political power.

Sidebar: if it wasn't for the Swedes getting involved in the 30 Years War, there would likely be a LOT more Catholics today.

I'm glad the reformers prevailed instead of being shut down like so many factions were by the might of the RCC.

    1 Corinthians 11:17-19 (NKJV)

17 Now in giving these instructions I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse. 18 For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 19 For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you.
I have never been able to watch KC. Have even less desire after watching that video.
