Thread: Kenneth Copeland making no sense whatsoever

  1. #21
I hope you all know that there was a small but thriving church all through history that predates Luther by far. In fact, it goes back to the first century. Best book on the history of the church is below. Here's the blurb:

The 2,000 year history of those Christians - and churches - that have stood outside the Protestant-Catholic tradition. This book was originally published in India in 1964 and is little known in the western world. Beginning in the first century John Kennedy traces the history of Christian groups who remained outside formalized religion down through the ages. A stirring, passionate and sometimes heart-rending story of suffering to the centrality of Christ within the Body of Christ.

Hmmm, I see a section on "The Destructive Force of Heresy Hunting" - must get. I see some familiar groups and some new ones.

So now I'm serving the devil by pointing out the direction Copeland has taken in relation to the Catholic church ? Or is it that all criticism of Copeland is of the devil ?

Hmmm.....there will be no 'religious' unification or 'denominational' unification...the body of Christ is a spiritual union that knows no such divisions....

Having said that it is equally important that those in the spiritual body don't allow judgments or prejudices to bring division.

NOWHERE in the NT is anyone speaking of any denominations or organizations.....to form an allegiance to them is at least, limiting in growth and at worst, divisive and destructive.

Bookman, I had a book years ago that I loaned out and didn't get back....can't seem to find it now. It traced speaking in tongues from the early church to modern times....does it sound familiar? This one is similar in it's tracing of the body through history apart from 'titles'.

Paul wasn't infallible either...but the writings under the Spirit that God preserved are....

I had an interesting discussion with a lady who could not make that distinction...she was convinced much of what Paul wrote is just his human opinion and his fallibility as a human seemed to mandate that his writings were too...

I didn't hear KC say Lutherans were now going to become Catholic Lutherans....seems more that their leaderships signed a 'peace treaty'....

Lutherans on the other hand, denominationally, have been going way backward on Biblical truth for years.

Personally I see very little significance in this event either way...
