Many believers never get a chance to be have worldly possessions as they live in constant threat of danger
It is very easy for western beleivers to declare financial prosperity but put them in Bangladesh or other places and it is very difficult to prosper materially.
God will provide their needs but many faithful beleivers do not have a over supply like the west
Not only that, Cardy, but consider the prosperity preachers who are rich simply because they preach what people want to hear and then ask those people to send them money. If they REALLY want to validate the prosperity message, let them stop asking for money and live by faith as did George Muller and many other godly leaders of the past and present.

Finally someone gets it! It would be interesting to see what would be the end result if the prosperity televangelists had their toys taken away....

You seem to equate the "give to get" doctrine with prosperity theology but that is merely an extreme version of it.

I've said that for years. Many of those that have extreme/unbalanced prosperity teaching are prosperous because they are the recipients of their own teaching. Out in the 'real world' I don't think it would be quite the same for them. I say that though as someone who believes it is God's will for His people to prosper. But there is a lot of over-the-top and just unscriptural teaching out there.

I agree. That's what is often referred to as "hyper-prosperity". The notion that everyone should become rich and the way of doing it is by giving to some rich or influential minister. "Give to me and you will get" as some of them practically teach.

I'm not correcting your theology, I'm correcting your use of terms.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
I don't know what we would do without the gift of correction.
