I knew exactly what you were talking about. Sadly though, Colonel makes a good point as so many have taken this Biblical truth to an extreme of paranoia and to the ridiculous. Nonetheless, YOUR point was right on and Biblical.

The Empire State Building was merely an illustration of that theme. We have faith in the Word, we have disbelief or doubt in the Word. Okay. What about faith in things that have nothing to do with the Word or are contrary to the Word ? If I believe that I will have cancer, will that with certainty bring me cancer ? That is different to not believing for healing and therefore being exposed to the elements - which may or may not result in cancer just like it does for other people.

Note that I have defended and discussed Word of Faith for years on an other forum earlier and it didn't merely involve pros and antis, there were Charismatics and non-Charismatics there that hadn't made up their minds that strongly too. And also pro-WoFers that differed in the nuances of what they believed and who even entertained straightforward misconceptions.

I think some of the application of WOF crosses over to superstition of sorts. It's almost like the grace of God is null and void if you call your children "kids". Well, by golly brother I gotta tell ya my children aren't billy goats!

Ah, yeah OK, got it bro.. doh!

Many things like this out there and Like ValiantWoman said, it can ruin friendships, relationships over petty stuff. Human spirit, not Holy Spirit.

Sorry to point out excess but unless that excess is put to bed once and for all, it will always mar WOF.

I assume you have spoken the Word into your situation so how would you explain the healing not manifesting...
He doesn't owe you or anyone an explanation...You shouldn't assume what others do in their situation because you don't know what's going on.

Sometimes the manifestation of one's healing takes time. Many Christians give up if their healing isn't manifested 5 minutes after they've prayed or confessed the Word over their body for 2 days.

Speaking on my own situation, I've used my faith in the past for healing for non-life threatening illnesses as well as some a little more serious. However, there were times I had to have medical treatment because I didn't want to be uncomfortable any longer. Even brother Hagin went to the doctor a couple times during his ministry.

One thing for sure, if my healing didn't manifest when I want it to, I'd still believe God's word concerning healing.
When your praise match your prayers, the answer will come.

I speak as a friend and someone who respects Fuego...I have asked Fuego these sort of questions in the past and he has not been offended as my motive is sincere

The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to quicken and reveal the personal application of the scriptures. As we follow the Spirit HE leads and guides us into truth...some, though, have taken the concepts of the WOF and attempt to manipulate God to give them the promises without meeting those conditions....

So trying to appropriate the promises, claiming them, while not actually being yielded and led by the Spirit....won't work...God is not obligated to His promises when we are not aligned with His will...

Teaching the principles of scripture being God's will and desire for us and that He has made it available to us IN Christ but not emphasizing the necessity of being Spirit led to receive is where that truth jumps track...two truths that must remain married to produce...

I’m not judging you. I think it’s a cheap shot that’s all. But since Fuego doesn’t need me to defend him, I digress.

    Amen. That’s good.

There have been times when the Holy Spirit told me to see a doctor...I specifically recall a time when I had an upset stomach, it was very uncomfortable...I heard the voice of the Spirit in my spirit say, “put some cinnamon in your tea.” I did and it stopped hurting instantly!
