Thread: Pentecostal and Charismatic Distinctives

This is a term that I learned to use as a former Baptist, where you point out the various differences in denomination, usually to point out what advantages YOUR theological perspective is - in being most correct, unique or beneficial.

The PC movement offers several distinctives that serve to draw a believer in a closer relationship with God, for one.

Can you list some?

So you were able to post consecutive capital letters in your post, but when I tried to put my post in all caps, and do the big grin which uses a capital D, as you can see the forum lower cased it for some reason. It even worked for FB.

Works for me. It has to be specific to the setup on your device Fuego, not to the forum or to FB.

I remember back in the 70s that Charismatics had an emphasis on the Holy Spirit, where my Baptist church emphasized teaching.

I saw indeed that the Charismatics I knew did have a "demeanor" that I thought I would like more of.

And we all got along as brothers in Christ because we practiced love and unity. It was a good time of unity through diversity. That is until certain pastors started promoting divisiveness and poisoning the wells of harmony.

This was a major "miss" for the Church as a whole. Your typical mainline denom member didnt have any idea how to counter demonic activity other than a generic sense of praying about it.

But there was a typical avoidance of demonic deljverance scenarios , as it would be best handled by an "exorcist."
