My wife and I met Jesus in an A/G church in the day where the Gifts were talked of but not much said of authority though we knew it. Pentecost was all I knew until we joined up with Baptists and immediately found our differences and they were (incidentally) not celebrated. I learned early on and rather quickly. We did have the older ones that modeled a depth of maturity and acceptance of other groups and camps. The difference of the experiences and understanding of doctrine is sometimes a heavy barrier when others arent willing.

I have a theory that the charismanics know the power and the evangelicals know the word (certain parts anyway) and in between they do not meet....

I miss the charismatic movement of the 70s. When I was young I lamented at older Christians who longed for the good old days. Now I'm one of them. Go figure.

I miss that of the early-mid 80’s. The nonsense of this day just makes me shake my head sometimes.

Through WOF I learned the scriptures are the gunpowder and the Holy Spirit is the fire that lights it....some lean toward the powder without the FIRE and some lean toward the FIRE without the powder...God ordained that the deep powerful flow of His Spirit can only be found when both work in harmony within....The Charismatic movement was a beautiful thing because it was like suddenly so many pieces of the puzzle just fell into place....

I look at Azusa street and the WOF movement as a recipe....that I believe is going to erupt in beautiful move of the Spirit that is both rooted in the TRUTH and set ablaze by the Spirit like we have not seen...

This was a major "miss" for the Church as a whole. Your typical mainline denom member didnt have any idea how to counter demonic activity other than a generic sense of praying about it.

But there was a typical avoidance of demonic deljverance scenarios , as it would be best handled by an "exorcist."
I know folks in a PC church who are afraid of demons and HS baptism. You would think they were babtists or something.
