My favorite quote from Brother Hagin is: "If God said it, I believe it, and that settles it!"

The bible says plainly and specifically that the New Jerusalem is the bride of Christ (Rev 21).

No where in Scripture does it plainly and specifically say that the church is the bride of Christ.

Again, if the bible says it, I believe it, and that settles it. Sorry, I have to stick with what the Scripture clearly says in Revelation chapter 21.

But what exactly is the New Jerusalem ? Maybe that is what you have got wrong. Since when does the new Jerusalem as a city in heaven tell people to come and get saved ?

The new Jerusalem is now :

Heb 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,
23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

    Does Jesus marry a building?????

IMO its quite clear the New Jerusalem is the abode of the BRIDE

When John the Baptist said - 'Behold the Lamb of God'......did he see a literal lamb or was he conveying a spiritual truth

The moral and physical elements of this present world are so marred from the fall, that it will require a major spiritual and physical overhaul. Not just the planet, but all creation because of the pollution by sin. The whole thing will be remade. What is needed is something like the Genesis flood, a destruction and re-creation, a new creation.

Peter express this as "looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness" (2 Pet 3:13). In the last two books of Revelation (21 & 22) we get a picture of that happening. As God says, "I am making all things new!"(Rev 21:5). How does God begin the process of making all things new? "The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare...That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat" (2 Pet 3:10, 12). This time the destruction is done by fire, not water. The moral and physical are so intertwined by sin, that it requires a complete purification by the hand of God.

What does it mean to have a new heavens and earth? A need for fulfillment of what human beings could not produce. A true city with a God-centered community in which peace and justice are actually present. Humans beings were created to live on earth, so a new earth will be their home. Humans beings were created for fellowship with God, so He will dwell in their midst. Human beings were created for community, so a true city will be established. The new heavens and new earth will have a new city, the new Jerusalem. Can't you see it forum? It's so much more than a cube 1500 miles high and 1500 miles long, its about you and I in an unblemished relationship with God, living in His literal presence throughout eternity. It's all about His people which He desired from the beginning for fellowshipping in an intimate relationship. He's starting over folks! See you there!

I understand your passion and desire for a new world of righteousness and basically what you wrote above everyone on this forum would agree but you can also accept everything you wrote and still accept the church is the bride.

One of the key elements of biblical interpretation is to not take 1 scripture and make a doctrine out of it.
Many believers have done this and end up in left field.

There must be a number of scriptures to have good doctrine and there are enough scriptures that point clearly to the church being the bride.

You can actually find one off scriptures that are interesting and shouldnt be dismissed but they must be correctly interpreted against the bulk of scripture.

Jesus called Judas a 'devil' but we know Judas is not a literal devil. Jesus also said John the Baptist was Elijah but we know that he was referring to the same spirit and calling.

New Jerusalem is called the bride because it is the eternal heavenly home of his beloved bride.

We have already come to the new Jerusalem, it is a spiritual fact, it can be seen as the household of the saints, the city on the hill whose light cannot be hidden. A larger family was often seen as a house or household, a whole city would correspond to a whole people. Jesus is its cornerstone, since when did he literally become an inanimate object ?

This sounds a little like the Holy Spirit being a She....have not studied this out but is it possibly the context?

The body of Christ is submissive to HIM as a wife to a husband yet has no 'gender' because it is spiritual, not carnal..
I can see why a guy might take issue with being part of the bride of Christ..but I don't see male gender applied in scripture...

Did any of you? So to me it speaks toward the attitude toward Christ.

    "Having abolished in His Flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances;
for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace (Eph 2:15). Prejudice between Jews and Gentiles was put to death at Calvary. Only Christ crucified could unite two separate and antagonistic hostile groups in making one new man. Christ's body, the church, is the one new man made up of new men (2 Cor 5:17).

"Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man,
unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Eph 4:13). This has reference to the whole body of Christ. God predestined His saints
"to be conformed to the image of His Son"(Rm 8:29). Christlikeness is that which belongs to Christ and that which is imparted by Christ. The goal: to become a full-grown man in Christ, cooperating with one another in working out God's plan and purpose.

It's not similar because we are discussing the genders of metaphors and not the gender of the entity the metaphor relates. Jesus as a mother hen for instance. The mother hen is feminine but that doesn't make Jesus feminine.
