The finding wasn't new as the article states. They have a theory for how soft tissue was preserved, who knows which version is correct.

In general there is a lot of hatred towards creationists of all kinds in science circles, they often hate anything that disrupts their sense of control - unless that new thing gains enough momentum/prestige to take over, then they get in line. That cannot happen with creationism since it involves not only a world view conflict but introduces the element of the uncontrollable - an intelligent divinity that cannot himself be mapped out by science.
