    Positive mental attitude

    You have the power to find and take control of any given circumstance.

    A positive attitude will help me through life here but will do nothing to keep me out of Hell...only Jesus can do that..I can think of a lot of circumstances a positive attitude won't change,..it will help me deal with them but change them? No

    Last summer I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. I had no positive mental attitude that could cure this disease within my own power and ability.
    I opted for an operation, and in prayer, asked God to help me get through this trial of sickness and restore me.
    Well the surgery and prayer worked. My prostate level (psi) is completely normal as of last blood test. There was nothing in my own positive mental attitude that brought these results.
    Most importantly, I give God the glory as I trusted in His divine guidance to get me through this health ordeal.
    If you put God First, you have Him at Last.

    You had something more powerful than a positive mental attitude......you had Faith

    Faith and a negative mental attitude don't mingle that well though.

    Well, if you can call doubt a negative mental attitude, I would agree. As Cardinal said, 'you had faith". But of coarse, with any battle or storm you find yourself in within this life, the devil will always fight you tooth and nail when you are believing Gods word. Planting thoughts (seeds) of doubt and unbelief are a couple of his tactics in which to keep us from receiving what we need from the Lord. The main scripture I stood on when I was going through this cancer was 1 John 5:14-13;

    "And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
    "And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

    True prayer is founded upon finding and coming into agreement with Gods will; then we stand in faith, confidant that God hears us and that what we ask for is already ours.

    In my case with cancer, I reminded God that the days of our live are 70 years, perhaps 80 (Ps 90:10). I'm only 61. (60 at the time diagnoses).
    And that I need you to restore me to health (3 Jn 2).

    There are no shortcuts or formulas to manipulate God to act on our behalf. It is simply standing on His word and believing Him for a favorable outcome.

    Bless His name forevermore.
    If you put God First, you have Him at Last.

    Faith in God is not a positive mental attitude but it certainly does have one..I cannot have faith in God and be negative but I can be positive and not have faith in God.....
