    Thank God for Salvation

Alot of the world is in winter but down here we are in the middle of summer. The other day got into my car and it was like an oven and it felt terrible.
I found myself thinking about hell and how horrific that would be...alot hotter than my car and for eternity

I then thought ....THANK GOD FOR SALVATION

What an awesome salvation we have received through the death of Jesus. All eternity we will thank him for that

It's good in the midst of all the stuff that happens in life to be thankful he saved us

Let's say you had renounced Jesus today, died tonight then found yourself in hell. Recall that there is no compartment called "the bosom of Abraham" with saints awaiting future redemption to relate to, not even by proxy. They have all been released into heaven and there is nothing there except hell. What would you have done, said, thought, felt ?

    Some questions to consider :

    * Your initial thoughts may have revolved around "oh no". But what about 500 years later, what would you be doing ?
    * The other people already there when you arrived would on average have been there for hundreds or thousands of years. What would they be doing, including when they see you arrive ?
    * Are there any devils in hell and what would they be doing ?

How long would you remain something short of pure evil or very, very close to pure evil ? People typically let themselves be brainwashed into monsters if everyone else is one even when things are going well, like in Germany during the late thirties and early fourties. What about you, a sinner having spent years in hell ?

I thank Jesus for saving me from the depths of depravity that I would be facing and to where I will be a parttaker in the divine nature (yes, that is a scripture quote) more than for anything else. I would probably have been dead and in hell and virtually be pure evil down there right now if it hadn't been for him. Being totally perverted tends to lend people the ability to cope with and get used to most circumstances in some perverted way and that would include hell and whatever fires there are there. Except for one thing, which is still a thing of the future and noone down there has seen that happen yet because it belongs to the day of final judgment - when hell and everyone in it is cast into the lake of fire and God's wrath is poured out on it all. Noone can get used to that as it is holiness burning unholiness and being totally evil and perverted only makes that situation worse. So who and what do you fear, hell OR God and his wrath ? I know who I fear, in both the positive and the negative sense.

A departed friend called Terri Routh once told me that there is a limit to how much a human being is capable of suffering. I guess she had suffered enough at points during her life to ascertain that when she told me that maybe 15 years ago. She suffered a lot during her last weeks before she died but there was a limit to it, it wasn't unfathomably bad. How do I know that ? Well I do, you may take my word for it.

Suffering God's wrath over sin is a different matter. I can't tell you that there is any limit to that. Satan will be facing his fair share of that. It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
