    Bill Johnson Quotes

My attempt to get away from election threads

Our beloved potentate Krystian put a quote of Bill Johnson on FB........I actually disagree with it

The quote by Bill - If Jesus has all authority that means the devil has none

My reply - He's right about Jesus but wrong that the devil has no authority. The scriptures are clear that both are at work. Not all truths can be condensed to sound bites just because it sounds clever.

I think this is a interesting discussion because many ministers and believers are coming up with witty, clever comments to make a point and of course liked by the multitudes.

Some are good but others are simply wrong or they are just trying too hard to be clever.
I have seen Bill Johnson do this over the years and he has come up with some brilliant quotes but when some comments are analysed against scripture it loses its potency.

When ministers continue to do this without real inspiration IMO it becomes cringeworthy and diminishes biblical truth

The funniest part is they will get 1000+ likes and you have to wonder if believers check the comment against scripture.

If I sound picky I'm sorry but after years of reading some really corny cringeworthy comments I just have to say something

I realise it's done on social media and people's attention is small but some truth has to be explained not condensed into an advertisement

Okay, ideal conditions in this life then. He has authority to try to do something in this world but that is no more authority than you have over me if you are nearby. It basically means he exists here at all.

I'm not a Johnson fan. He is too rooted in Latter Rain.

Much of the younger generation has to have sound bites because they are too busy for much else.

Under ideal conditions he can try to do something but if he cannot succeed then it's questionable if he can be said to have "authority" in relation to his perpetual failures. Authority normally implies an actual ability to make something substantial happen.

If you tell me "please join me in this sinful activity" and I simply ignore you then your authority over me should probably be said to be non-existent.

Paul doesn't call satan the 'god of this world' for no reason. Paul understood clearly satanic authority which he battled against to bring the gospel to the gentiles

We have authority over satan from Jesus but that doesn't mean satan has no authority

He has authority over those who do not believe, obviously. And he can buffet us through those. But what authority does he have over us at the most basic level ? Let's say you have all faith in all of God's promises, what authority does he have then ? Be specific.
