Thread: Job

You miss the point of the entire book of Job by ascribing ANY of his troubles to Job. God made it very clear at the beginning that Job was innocent of any wrong doing. Why did God do that if Job was to blame? You're hanging too much weight on one verse to the exclusion of the rest of the narrative.

he has no idea about context.. when you string a bunch of unrelated verses together, you can make the Bible say just about anything you want.
You are void of understanding if you cannot understand how these verses are directly related.

If you hang in there, the Lord will get some revelation to you from His Word thru the Holy Ghost.

Job had NO part in the trials that came upon him
OK, so you are accusing God of teaming up with satan to bring all these things on Job?

If so, you believe God and satan are in agreement... have fun with that.

Job was innocent of any wrong doing
Job was not a perfect human being... you are in error in claiming this as Jesus was the only perfect One Who never made any mistakes.

Job was in fear. Fear is a sin. Sin enables the devil to get thru the hedge of protection God had placed around Job.

You obviously do not understand that fear is a seed that works to bring to you the thing which you fear coming upon you. Fear is an open door to the devil to run seedtime and harvest against you in darkness.

It actually works as a reciprocal of the faith we get from the Lord.

This is why I do not go to doctors... he's just going to try and plant fear in me in opposition to what God has already said about my health. It would be slow to open one's self up to someone planting fear in them, claiming God's Word is not true even if they have no idea this is what they are doing and they mean well.

To repeat: You yourself admitted fear is sin. You attribute sin to a man whom God very CLEARLY called upright and blameless. I'm about done here. It's not possible to have a reasonable dialog with you. It's obvious you're only here to correct all our heresies and I'm not interested in that.

You keep speaking as though God said Job was incapable of making a mistake which would make Job perfect like Jesus was... that is obviously in error.

You never addressed whether you think God was in agreement with satan to bring this attack on Job... either Job unknowingly caused the hedge of protection to be broken, or you believe God was in agreement with satan to steal, kill, and destroy.

God declared Job innocent at the beginning of the book. Elihu later declared him guilty of sin and God himself had Job repent in dust and ashes at the end of the book. Somewhere along the way Job did lose it, probably already in chapter 3 where he curses the day of his birth.

If we take your thinking far enough then some people, like Australian aboriginees from a thousand years ago, would virtually be incapable of sinning. Everyone is capable of sinning against God by violating their conscience and the conscience is created by God and relates the deeper intent of the law. Until it is worn down by callousness which takes violating it in the first place. I'm more interested in if Job sinned against his conscience and thereby sinned against God from his heart than whether or not he sinned against a verbal commandment that he knew of. A curse was an extremely serious matter in their culture so when he curses the day of his birth in chapter 3 he must have sinned from his heart.

So something that would have been a sin for a NT Christian would have not been a sin for Job. Therefore Job could have done things that wouldn't be a sin for him but would be for us. So if fear being a sin for us, that being a product of unbelief, if indeed fear and unbelief is a sin for us, would not have been a sin for Job in regards to fear because he had no instruction concerning it like we do, but at the same time he would have lived under the spiritual consequences of it. His ignorance didn't free him for the effects of 'spiritual law'.

Job is basically assumed to be alive about the same time as Abraham. His knowledge of God and therefore his responsibility would have been minimal. It's also why a Job experience wouldn't happen to a believer in the same way, due to our knowledge of the Word and the fact we have authority over the devil and he didn't.
