Thread: Giving Satan Access

    Giving Satan Access

I'm going to try an experiment. I'll make a statement and see if it becomes a discussion or falls flat.

Here is the statement: Satan can only bring trouble into our life if we give him access.

Agree? Disgaree? If you agree, how do we give him access? How to we prevent giving him access? If you disagree, give examples from real life or from the Bible.

This isn't a trick question, just hopefully a discussion starter.

    Go!

Just a short quick answer for right now.

I'm not sure I totally agree with that. We live in a fallen world, he is the god of this world, so he has access. First of all, I think we are attacked because we are the righteous (persecuted for righteousness sake; he that lives godly shall suffer persecution ). Jesus was even 'attacked' by the devil and He was perfect. Although he would leave Jesus for seasons after Jesus resisted him.

Now I certainly believe we can open the door to the devil. But to say 'only', I'm not sure that's accurate. But it is our responsibility to take authority over what he brings our way and resist him. The storm came to two men, and one's house was built on the rock and one on the sand. Both had the same exact circumstances, but one fell and one overcame. It doesn't say the difference was it was God's will for one to overcome and the other to fall. It was totally their responsibility. The one that fell, fell because his house was built on the sand, the sand being because he WASN'T a DOER of the Word. The one that overcame WAS a DOER of the Word. The outcome was totally the responsibility of each person.

I am also of the belief that we can have generational stuff come through the bloodlines that we are ignorant of until Holy Spirit reveals and then we have to listen and break the "curses."

We also open doors through occult/new age/witchcraft/satanism and alcohol and drug abuse.

Doors are opened in our lives through being abused.

We open doors through willful disobedience and sin.

I have found in my own life that the more of that stuff I've taken care of, the less all out harassment I get from the enemy.

Am I absolutely free of his tricks and plans? Nope. But I know my authority comes in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The enemy has tried to kill all of us. My husband, me and all 3 of our kids. Seriously, not just random, "ya, the enemy is out to get us..."

All out attack that could have led to our deaths if the Lord hadn't intervened.

Did we have doors open for that or does he just want to stop us for what we're going to do for God or even stop my kids from having kids???

I don't have the answer to that one.

mark it on the calendar.. I agree with Fuego too.

I don't think it's our call for satan/minion to give us trouble. We live in a fallen, broken world.. it comes with the territory.

The GOOD news is that we're also God's children and He stands with us when trouble comes.

There seems to be a lot of disagreement around on that. Todd White for instance thinks it is nonsense, I've heard other international ministers say the same. I'm pretty sure that some of it is genetic and some of it is transferred through learned behavior/attitudes. Including when people basically become open to and receive the same type of demon that their parents did and so on. But none of that is technically a "generational curse".
