I'm here. I've been following everyone's answers. Actually, I do tend to think Satan (or as Zeke points out, his minions) only has access to us as we grant him that access. That doesn't mean we're immune to temptation, but if we look at Jesus's temptations, I think we see Satan trying to gain access to Jesus through the temptations. Jesus, of course, denied Satan access by resisting him with the Word--as we must do.

Someone mentioned the occult, someone else mentioned porn. Drugs, too, including alcohol abuse, are, I believe granting Satan access to do damage to our lives.

When we are first born again, we are given a full and complete salvation. We are at that point delivered from Satan's kingdom and placed in God's kingdom. Our salvation is as complete the day we're born again as it will be the day we die. We do spend the rest of our life discovering all the glorious aspects of this deliverance, of course. We don't realize all at one what a marvelous and complete salvation we have. We are called upon to walk out our salvation wearing the armor of God. In this new complete salvation, we have protection from Satanic influence. However, we are not protected from temptation. If we are tempted to drugs and give in, we are opening ourselves to Satanic influence. Same with sexual immorality, the occult, anger, or whatever temptation Satan offers us. I'm sure you've noticed in your own life--and by observing others--that Satan is never interested in simply seeing you fall to one temptation. Satan's goal is to use whatever weak links he can find to get his foot in the door (gain access). Once he has a wedge in our life, he seeks to conquer more territory until he has complete control--demonic possession (or obsession if possession bothers you theologically).

I think many Christians are easily swayed and open themselves up to many foolish temptations which only serve to grant Satan access to their lives. And it's so unnecessary. We are to keep ourselves strong, not being "ignorant of his devices."

Fuego, you mentioned the two men who built their house, one on the rock, the other on sand. I think the man who built his house on sand was at that point giving Satan an entrance to his life. The man who built on the rock was not granting Satan access. Both men went through the storm, so I'm not saying we don't face storms--I'm saying that building on sand is giving Satan access. It's up to each of us to be aware of Satan's strategies designed especially for us. As I said, his initial goal is just to get his foot in the door, but his ultimate goal is our destruction.

We are protected from temptation in this sense :

1 Cor 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Right. And in overcoming temptation, we are denying Satan (and his minions) access to our life.

Agreed but not in the most original sense, that we live in a fallen world where there are natural disasters, genetic diseases etc. But God's power may move to protect us from that as well (Psalm 91). That may require a positive element called faith in God's promises.

One should select smile.amazon.com and "bridges for peace" and Amazon will donate a small sum to Tehilah's organization.

I just finished a two part teaching on the Generational curse this past Sunday. I used to vehemently reject this teaching as well. However, when you study the Scriptures and life patterns one can see that there is truth to this teaching but many Charismatics took this truth way overboard. Truth should not be rejected but taught with Biblical balance.

Here is a summary of my teaching:

    1. The Bible teaches that there are generational curses.
    2. The LAW OF HEREDITY was established by God to be a channel of blessing. Sin and Satan perverted this law and now it brings curses (while still bringing blessings as well)
    3. The curses are only to the THIRD and FOURTH GENERATION of THEM THAT HATE GOD (if someone in the third and fourth generation love God then they no longer have to suffer the curse)
    4. ALL Curses are broken through the shed blood of Jesus Christ
    5. The born again Christian is a new creation. Old things have passed away (including the sin of our ancestors) and we are reconnected to Christ and disconnected from our ancestors. There is no need to go digging through history of ancestors to find specific sins and repenting everyday of sins of dead and long gone family members.
    6. If you are suffering patterns of a curse from family ancestry, claim the New Covenant rights you have over all curses and break it in the authority of Jesus' Name.

The extreme is to blame my sinful behavior on my ancestors. Also, to sit around looking for what my ancestors did and repent for their sin before I can take authority over sickness and disease. Jesus and His disciples did none of that when ministering healing. They healed and casted out devils in Jesus' Name and that was that. I need to repent for MY sin, not theirs (although if God shows you a covenant or something an ancestor made then certainly you should renounce it).
