Including when people basically become open to and receive the same type of demon that their parents did and so on. But none of that is technically a "generational curse".
Actually all of that does fall under generational curses. Anything that affects us negatively in our mind, soul and body and causes us to act contrary to scripture that we learned or inherited from our family line is potentially a curse.

You will find that many evangelists or people used in healing of the physical body can be very ignorant to how God heals people of the mind and emotions
Because physical healing is their ministry and they have faith in that area they become dismissive to other areas of healing

Some of the most broken people you can meet are those crushed mentally and emotionally who need healing in their lives

This is not a generational curse but the same applies to people wounded in their soul area. I prayed for a christian lady who was shattered and could not find peace or emotional well-being due to the death of her son. When I layed hands on her God worked deep into her soul and she began to weep and years of built up grief were released. It was a supernatural work and she was free.
Years later I met her husband and he reminded me that I prayed for his wife and how they never forgot what God did.

God heals through many different ways and means and we should rejoice at all the ways he heals

I was delivered from a generational demonic curse 4 years after getting saved, water baptised, filled with the Spirit and serving God.
In my case God used all of the above to bring me to a place of spiritual strength where I was ready to be free

One thing we need to be mindful of is the fact that satan can only be in one place at a time. Most "Christians" will never encounter him on the earth. However, his minions are everywhere. They can harass you, but cannot demonize you unless you give them legal permission to do so, (start looking at porn, drinking excessively, etc.) We are told to resist him, and to take every thought captive.

As far as "generational curses" go in the life of a believer, if we would get back to biblical baptism, then we would see more immediate freedom when someone comes to Christ. They wouldn't have to be waiting for the Holy Spirit or some ministry to point it out to them and then bring deliverance. Jesus came to set us free.

    Acts 8
4 Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to the[a] city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.

My first pastor was a prophet and he prayed for a unsaved man dying of liver or pancreatic cancer. As he prayed he saw the demon leave his physical body and the man had a 100% total healing. ( not all cancer is a demon but in this case it was )
This man got saved and came to our church and I personally spoke to him about his miracle

My pastor also prayed for many for emotional and mental healing and believed in generational curses. He could see demons attacking people's mind, soul and emotions just as much as their physical body.

Todd White isn't that categorical, emotional healing isn't quite the same as generational curses. He speaks out against the practice of trying to take people back in time to where things happened to them and to get them healed through that. I personally believe that the Holy Spirit can certainly do that but people tend to make whole ministries out of very specific approaches and then apply that to everyone wholesale.
There is the question of what the precise definition of "generational curse" is. I doubt that almost anyone who does believe in the Bible would dismiss the points I listed above but then, is that list exhaustive ?

I do agree that if you do the above in the natural flesh realm there is no guarantee of healing

Whatever we do it has to be done by the Spirit

Okay but where is anything resembling "generational curses" mentioned in the Bible ? I'm thinking that the term may be unbiblical or at best, too fuzzy.

David's son who slept with his half sister if I remember correctly.

A lot of what we would consider "generational curses" are lifestyles taught by the life we experience as a child. Look at the multi-generational welfare families for example. Many of these kids are brought up seeing their parents work the system and that is how they learn to survive, and then when they grow up they live the same way. Some in the church would call this a "spirit" or "curse" of poverty.
