You can go all third grade with this if you want to. Of course I enjoy modern technology as it makes me able to accomplish more... unfortunately, medical science over all is a failure.

Sure, they've done some good here and there but they cannot prevent people from croaking even though they present themselves as THE solution and those that do not agree with them are painted as being backwoods uneducated rednecks who don't know what day of the week it is.

Funny thing, I spend zero on medical care thanks to the finished work of Jesus Christ by the indwelling Holy Ghost based on the promises found in God's written Word... while those that put their trust medical science end up like the lady that touched Jesus' garment... they spend all they money and rather get more sick.

Please show me the specific call to action in God's Word telling me to use medical science.

I have plenty of time, so I can wait while you scour the net and ask all your medical science trusting buddies to help you come up with an answer.

Only fools trust in the wisdom of man above and before the Wisdom of God.

    Good luck with that broman!

That's exactly what the religious people of Jesus' day said about Him... you know, the people that said they knew God and His Word.

A big point to note here is... why wait till we feel bad to start meditating, confessing, and acting on God's promises concerning healing and divine health???

This is all I've done is recognize back when I was much younger than I am now that health can be and will be attacked so I decided I was going to get out in front of this and study God's Word on this subject.

The Lord has shared with me all kinds of neat stuff about this and I've become convinced that it is illegal for sickness / disease to come upon me and at the very first feeling of any sort of discomfort anywhere in my body I can cast it out within a few seconds! Of course there are attacks, but I have something greater to attack back with... the Blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony!

That's how Jesus rolled when it came to His personal health while He was here on earth, and since we know He was tested, tempted, and tried in all points as we are... satan most definitely tried to make Him sick, but failed miserably cause Jesus refused to allow it on His Body.

Exactly... plan ahead in all areas of your life cause satan has a storm with your name on it!

No, reliance upon that which man kind can do apart from God is total ignorance, and sinful for a Christian.

If you think mankind has a "cure" for anything, you haven't been paying attention. Many, many people die under the care of medical science.

For the Christian, this is ignorance of what Jesus has already paid for and how to access it. Ignorance simply means some folks don't know what they have in Jesus, it doesn't mean they are stupid.
God has provided many ways for us to be healed:

    The prayer of faith

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him vsing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, wanointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

This is a family thing, not an individual endeavour.

    The gift of healing

God has put into the Body those who have the gift of healing to heal the sick and give testimony to Him.

Acts 5:15–16 so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

Peter walked in the gift of healing, as do others.

Very good, agreed! That's from God's Word.

Now, if we can just find in God's Word where He specifically tells His people to go to the doctor and get healed thru medical science.

    I can wait, thank you...

I consider "modern science" or "medical science" to be misnomers. Most of it is just "profit science" but if you are the type to let a child suffer or even die for lack of anti-biotic or diarrhoea medicine, we have noting to talk about. Truth be told, you benefit from "modern science" everyday and that plays a very large part in your "divine" health. I praise God for those little inventions like clean water and roof shingles and heaters and winter coats, you know, the things that keep us healthy.

I'm also not anti-aspirin. It's just willow bark, something God put here for us.

But by all means carry on with your super-spiritual nonsense, you know what comes before a fall!

So, according to you... Jesus is powerless against these things, to heal children from them?

Your Jesus must be really, really small.

Every read the Great Commission that Jesus spoke of???

Ah no, Jesus is not powerless against these things. You holding to extremes does not mean that I do.

And yes, ye of wonderful faith, why haven't you emptied the hospitals or even this forum of all sickness? You talk a game but don't seem to have any. A flunky minister, a powerless braggart will berate others for lack of faith because they don't have the goods needed to carry out the great commission, they don't carry the anointing to do the job.

A man of faith will simply pray for the sick and THEY WILL BE HEALED. Wimpy little trolls will do what you do, be a fault finder, a blamer an accuser of the brethren. Go heal thyself, that's all you seem to be capable of. I actually think you are bitter and infirm, probably in a wheel chair. Repent, confess your sins and be healed.

Soooooo ..... do you have kids and have they ever been sick?

Are you married? Has your wife ever been sick?

Do you slap them silly with the word till they're well?

I'm sorry, that line made me chuckle.

This thread has taken a bad turn. These type written beat downs are getting old. I may have to use the ignore button myself.

If you will wait, extremely quietly, till the response comes FT you'll make a lot of people really happy.

However as the last of Scripture was written nearly 2,000 years ago, and because we've had some marvelous developments since then, most things in modern life have nothing specific said about them in God's word.

Actually FT, and I hope this doesn't give you an excuse to not wait quietly, the Bible says to bind wounds, pour oil on them, take a little wine etc. which was the limit of medical science at the time.

Actually you're desire to adhere to Sola Scriptura, one of the five tenets of the Reformation is to be admired, but as it is defined as

The inerrant Scripture (the Bible) is the sole source of written divine revelation, which alone can bind the conscience. The Bible alone teaches all that is necessary for our salvation from sin and is the standard by which all Christian behavior must be measured. It is denied that any creed, council or individual may bind a Christian's conscience, that the Holy Spirit speaks independently of or contrary to what is set forth in the Bible, or that personal spiritual experience can ever be a vehicle of revelation.
i.e. the sole source of written divine revelation, which alone can bind the conscience, you'd actually have to find Scripture forbidding you to go to the doctor to support your argument.

Well, this is easy... Jesus took our heartburn upon Himself so we wouldn't have to have it.... so there's no need to take dope.

I would get in to how this is done based on what the New Testament teaches, but some would be offended.

I have ft ignored so i don't end up getting treated by a medical doctor..... I am diabetic and i have a wonderful doctor who helps me. I brought this on myself and so i am reaping what i sowed in the natural. The Holy Spirit told me if I take care of myself by exercising, diet and lose weight He would take it away. Does this mean I ignore my doctor? NO i allow him to speak into my life as he knows how to treat the natural body. when i pray for people and they are healed i do not tell them to stop their meds or take off the casts or boots. i tell them to go back to the doctor and get checked first. I have seen fT's arguments before and seen those who espouse them die of sicknesses they claim to have been healed from or they claim they would never RECEIVE. something to be said for rightly dividing the word or in this case misusing it to fit your agenda.
