    this had been discussed in my circles for years. I can't be the only one who's dealt with this.
    My response would have to be, "if God is transgender, then why did Jesus only refer to Him as Father, and never Mother?"

    Finding something feminine related to God in the Bible is hard. There is some picture used somewhere in the OT but I can't recall where or what it is.

    Did you read the article? That's one of the things Dr Brown responded with:

    More importantly, of the more than 6,000 times that the name YHWH occurs, it never occurs with a feminine adjective or verbal form. The name is exclusively masculine.

    Even more importantly, this is the consistent revelation of God in the Scriptures: He is the heavenly Father, not the heavenly mother; He is a man of war, not a woman of war; He is the King, not the queen; He is the Shepherd, not the shepherdess; He is the Husband to the widow, not the wife of the widower; He is the Lord, not the lady, the Master, not the mistress; He is the Groom while Israel is the Bride—and on and on it goes, countless thousands of times.

    So we can say emphatically that Rabbi Sameth is flat wrong in claiming that the God of the Bible "was understood by its earliest worshipers to be a dual-gendered deity."

    Isaiah 66:13 "As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

    But this act of God is indirect since Jerusalem is the real mother for these children being comforted :

    Isaiah 66:10 “Rejoice with Jerusalem,
    And be glad with her, all you who love her;
    Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn for her;
    11 That you may feed and be satisfied
    With the consolation of her bosom,
    That you may drink deeply and be delighted
    With the abundance of her glory.”
    12 For thus says the Lord:
    “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river,
    And the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream.
    Then you shall feed;
    On her sides shall you be carried,
    And be dandled on her knees.

    In the posts under an article this morning someone commented that Jesus had 2 fathers....defending gay men adopting...and I realized my mind can't even begin to wrap around that kind of deception, nor would I even entertain it...but some will hear that and entertain it as reasonable...SAD..

    I am going to think out loud a little here...yesterday I read some discussion on Facebook regarding Catholicism...one response really caught my eye and this morning something unrelated I read...the poster stated that he was once evangelical but later found 'satisfying answers' regarding the hard challenges to Catholicism. This really stuck with me and I sensed the Holy Spirit prompting me that this person found these satisfying only because for some other reason He became willing to...he had already began to deviate in his heart.

    This morning I was reading a magazine and the word Entertain stuck with me...When we approach the Bible to really know truth no matter how it offends our mind or how we can't 'understand' it at first, He leads us to that truth and transforms us into HIS image..when we begin to ENTERTAIN other ideas that we KNOW contradict that truth; if something else is going on we will entertain those ideas...this is the way of all heresy...all who started out with truth and deviated...for some reason the chose to become OPEN MINDED...not just to truth but to things clearly not supported by scripture..we have to have a settled heart that anything that is not clearly taught in the scriptures must be suspect and if they counter scripture, no matter how 'reasonable' they sound to us, we will reject them. When it comes to Universalism the ultimate issue is the inability to accept someone we love or people we admire go to Heaven and taking it a step further we would eventually accept that purely evil people will because that's the trade off...say with Homosexuals or someone who loves someone who is...they refuse to accept that loved one is practicing sin or don't know how to love them with God's kind of love..so they begin to entertain reasoning..

    The cornerstone of the Catholic is, 'God is still talking and the Bible is not ALL truth.'

    Just like Satan lied to Eve with a half truth, he tricks them into accepting lies. The same is true with the homosexual community that is pushing this idea..it starts with a fundamental lie that under minds the scriptures as final say...

    We must be careful when reasoning with others and be as Bereans, return to scripture with desire for truth alone and judge what we hear...we are all subject to this simple and strategic and subtle strategy of the enemy.

    Satan always starts with a seed...if it lands in a fertile spot of doubt or discontent, it roots. Some eventually recognize it and pull it up but most embrace it and allow it to affect everything the believe...like kudzu taking over a house or a tree.
