I do. We fulfill them by walking in love. But obviously keeping them is not the source of our salvation.

Exactly. In some sense this applies to the entire law, according to its deeper intent. According to the ministry of the Spirit rather than according to the ministry of the letter (2 Cor 3)

Obviously, salvation is by grace through faith and walking is love is the proper way to behave as a believer. However, not keeping the Sabbath does not qualify as being obedient to the 10 commandments. And, NO, Sunday is not the Sabbath as defined by the Bible. It's a great day to worship and is an acceptable day to gather with the body of believers but it simply is not the Sabbath. And what about idols as defined by the Bible? What about having other gods? What about envy, adultery and actually all of the rest of those wonderful ideals? No, most believers do not believe that the "10 Commandments" are valid in today's world as written without adaptations and disclaimers.

Explain the difference between the spirit and the letter of the law.

Romans 10:4 “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.”No one is declared righteous by faith in the law. But faith in the capstone of God Jesus Christ we have fulfilled ALL the law. Dietary restrictions and Sabbath laws do not apply to anyone today. If we want to keep them we can but we get NO credit at all for doing them. The Law with it's many restrictions never made anyone Holy.

As a parent, I pretty much taught the essence of the Ten C. as a pattern for behavior not as a means to get to Heaven. Jesus told us what fulfills the law : Love.

Quiet true, but you still haven't told me how many medals you've got.

However as the "rule" is "whosoever gets first, second or third in an event at the Olympics receives a medal" what's your excuse.
