Can unconfessed, unrepentant sin send a Christian to hell?

There is an interesting discussion going on our facebook group page that I'd like to bring here...this is the OP post, please use scripture to state your position:

If you think, because of the "Finished Work" that you are free to do as you please without consequences, then you are no longer under Grace. True biblical grace... gives you the ability to live holy lives before God. Does God "see" the sins of a Christian? Absolutely! Can unconfessed, unrepentant sin send a Christian to hell? Absolutely! The entire New Testament declares this. If you trust in the Finished Work and live under grace, you will DO the things God requires of us to do. Not out of a sense of guilt, obligation or to "earn" favor with God, but we do those things out of a heart of love for the One who shed His blood for our sins.

"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, righteously, and in godliness in this present world, as we await the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for Himself a special people, zealous of good works.

Teach these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you."

    Titus 2:11-15 (Modern English Version)

Yes. Read the New Testament... ALL of it, not just cherry picking the happy stuff.

There is no such thing as an unrepentant Christian. There is also no place in the Bible that says that a Christian will go to hell if they die having not confessed all of their sins. I have heard that claim made multiple times, but it is not in the Bible. Such claims also demonstrate a fundamental misunderstanding of why we confess our sins to the Lord on a daily basis.

That's a strange response, it can mean almost anything.

Unconfessed, unrepented of sin in the life of a believer will not condemn him, because His sins have already been dealt with---past, present and future, and God has already forgiven and forgotten them, but it can very well shipwreck his life, and cause him to lose out on certain rewards at the Bema Seat Judgment of Christ that have been reserved for him.

Rom 4:8 . . Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

The Greek word for "impute" is logizomai (log-id'-zom-ahee) which means to keep an inventory, In other words: an indictment; which Webster's defines as an official written statement charging a person with a crime.

The first covenant is based upon law and criminal justice with plenty of punishments stipulated for violators. So then when Jews break one of the first covenant's laws, it goes on their record; in other words; it goes on an indictment.

Ex 34:6-7 . . Then Yhvh passed by in front of Moses and proclaimed: Yhvh, Yhvh God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness and truth; who keeps loving-kindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished:

The second covenant is a whole lot better. It contains law too (Jer 31:33) but not a carry over of the law of the first covenant.

Jer 31:31-32 . .The day will come-- says the Lord --when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt.

The element of criminal justice is excluded from the second covenant so there are no records kept of people's conduct; hence there are no indictments pending against them.

Jer 31:35 . . I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
