Post Where Is Muhammad Ali Now?

The Greatest (a.k.a. Cassius Clay) followed a spiritual philosophy called Universal Sufism.

If the Bible has it right, then the three-time heavyweight boxing champion is now coping with something far, far worse than Parkinson's disease.

There's a case history of a man in hell located at Luke 16:19-31. Aside from the obvious discomforts that are indigenous to that environment; the #1 thing on the man's mind were his surviving relatives. He was suffering anxiety they might share his fate and there was no way he could get a message out to let them know where he was.

Ali left behind seven daughters and two sons.

...and yet, like all the other celebrity deaths we've seen this year (and years past) we don't know if Ali had a personal saving encounter with the True and Living God before he passed..I really don't like to speculate where folk end up..Luke 23: 39-43

Some may feel that hell isn't an appropriate topic at a funeral. But I think that, other than Xmas and Easter, you couldn't pick a better time to bring it up, especially since Christ said that the majority is headed in that direction. (Matt 7:13-14, Matt 22:14, Luke 13:22-24)

According to the Bible; not many great people are called. If that's true, then we have to expect that the majority of the world's best and brightest achievers-- the really big names in sports, science, law, medicine, politics, technology, business, industry, exploration, religion, entertainment, and education, etc -- don't, and won't, make it to safety when they pass on.

As I watched some of the splendor and pomp of President Gerald Ford's funeral back in January of 2007, I couldn't help but wonder if he was in a position to really appreciate it; as I suspect people in hell would certainly no longer really care anymore whether they were given an unknown pauper's disposal in a city incinerator, or reverently placed in a grand tomb in the National Cemetery with world-wide television coverage.

Ecc 7:2 . . It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of gaiety, for death is the destiny of every man; the living should take this seriously.

I agree. Ali had so many chances, particularly his encounters & conversations with Christian preachers like Billy Graham. It is possible that he reached out to Christ in the end. I hope he did, but we won't know until we get there.

Rev Graham's son, Franklin Graham posted the following on Facebook.

"Two champions had their last meeting in Louisville, KY, in June, 2001. My father Billy Graham was there to preach and Muhammad Ali was in town for another engagement and they were staying at the Grand Hotel in downtown Louisville. My father was a champion for the souls of men and Muhammad Ali was a champion of the boxing ring. This wasn't the first time the two had gotten together.

They first met when Ali came to my parents' NC home in 1979. After that meeting he said, "I've always admired Mr. Graham, I'm a Muslim and he's a Christian, but there is so much truth in the message he gives, Americanism, repentance, things about government and country–and truth. I always said if I was a Christian, I'd want to be a Christian like him." Ali said, "he leads people to God. I look up to him."

My father always hoped Ali would give his life to Christ. I've wondered if he put his faith and trust in Christ before he slipped into eternity. I sure hope so. Islam's Muhammad can't save you, only Jesus Christ can save."
When your praise match your prayers, the answer will come.

I watched Ali's Homegoing Service with mixed emotions...

It was a fitting and beautiful tribute to his humanitarian side, but when his widow mentioned that he kept saying "I just want to make it into Heaven," I wondered if he meant the Heaven where Jesus is or the Heaven of the prophet Muhammad?
