I do too, though we use grape juice. Perhaps it was my Episcopal upbringing, but the idea of wine makes it seem....more real. Grape juice is hardly a symbol for the blood of the Lord Jesus. I also loved it as a boy when we all went forward and drank from a common cup. I know it's supposedly not sanitary, but I never heard of anyone getting sick because they shared a common communion cup. It just has more spiritual significance when we all drink from the same cup. At least to me.

It's not something I quibble about in a public meeting. Ken and I haven't discussed it but we'll probably serve grape juice at our church. I "get" the reason why. But at home or in a private gathering? It's wine.
A friend-church in Wilmington uses a common cup, and everyone dips their bread.

Men take the lead, though obviously as servants, not as domineering overlords.
With no paid staff, everyone is involved. I like that. We have a wonderful family camp every summer. This year will be the 42nd consecutive family camp. Always a lot of fun and usually a baptism or two or three. Can't wait!
Sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I bet some women cringed on the part "we believe in male leadership"

Wine vs Grape Juice has stirred a lot of controversy in the church in years past. I recall my dad telling me about churches "disfellowshipping" other churches over it years ago. In fact, when I was a kid, I remember going to a big convention and they had 2 tables. One had wine and the other had grape juice and you just picked the one that matched your beliefs

Would not want to trigger an alcoholic episode for a weak believer.

I desire to be more like Jesus and follow his biblical teachings. So we use grape juice.

● Rom 14:21 . . It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
FYI: The word "wine" is nowhere in the instructions for the Lord's supper. The only stipulation in regards to the chemistry of the beverage is that it be a fruit of the vine; which tells me it doesn't have to be fermented just so long as it's grape-based.
And besides; it's not the elements that count; it's their meaning that counts. People get too hung up on the chemistry; which is a very ritualistic attitude instead of a spiritual attitude..

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but one of my great-uncles, who was a deacon in his church for years got into a serious disagreement with the pastor about this. My uncle was also concerned about "triggering" the alcoholics/former alcoholics in the church (but the pastor, who had been recently installed didn't think it was a big deal). My uncle ended up leaving that church and joined and served in another for years...he ended up returning to the former church, and he and the pastor reconciled (I don't recall if there was a change from wine to grape juice, it probably was).
