Yeah, I just don't let anybody lay hands on me.

If people are open to whatever then most things are possible. There is such a thing as being protected by faith and by the anointing. When that devil worshipper rallied her Satanic network to cast a spell at me she didnt lay hands on me, all it took was for me to read her post where she was directing her spell at me and the demons were at work. The anointing stopped that spell, otherwise it would have killed me. If it hadnt then angels would have stepped in to stall it. The same would have happened if she had been nearbyand had managed to lay hands on me. Or if she had managed to trick me into thinking she was a minister and then layed hands on me. As long as I have no reason to believe otherwise. I am not afraid of the devil, and that includes the devil's hands.

There are a handful of people that I will NOT allow to touch me, much less lay hands on me for any purpose. Then there's a somewhat larger group that I feel compelled to pray, "Father, guard me from anything that's not You, and pour into me all that is".

All good thoughts. But where is the dividing line between faith and superstition?
No one can curse what God has blessed. The light has nothing to fear from the dark.

Numbers 22-24 show what happens when someone tries to curse what God has blessed. In chapter 25 they almost brought a curse upon themselves by joining themselves with Baal. If not for Phinehas God would have poured out His wrath upon them. A curse without a cause cannot land. We can open up a door, but no one else can curse us.

But what does the NT teach us about such matters? Philip encountered a sorcerer in Acts 8, Paul encountered a sorcerer in Acts 13, and a girl with a spirit of divination in Acts 16. Did they show any sign of fear towards these? No! They understood WHO they were in Christ, and the authority that they had in Christ!

James said "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins(opening the door to what ails him), he will be forgiven."

As disciples of Jesus we are commanded to "as we go" preach the kingdom, heal the sick and cast out devils. "They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." The "they" is anyone who is named a disciple of Jesus.

I'm thinking that the Light needs to quit being so afraid of the dark. When the Light comes, darkness has to flee. We are that light. We are to be led by the Spirit of God, and this also means to trust Him to protect us. When darkness comes near, He will let us know. One of His gifts is discerning of spirits.

It has been my experience that when I am deeply in the Spirit, someone with a demon or demons become very agitated and can't seem to stand to be near the Light.
When they manifest, it is a great time to cast them out and set the person free.

I have witnessed a person whom I know was demonized come to our services, and he could never stay in the sanctuary for long when the Spirit was moving. They would cause him to flee. He never wanted to deal with it, so as far as I know he is still hosting them to this very day. Haven't seen him for months now.

None of us are yet perfected, but we are supposed to be in a steady state of being perfected. God isn't using perfect vessels, He is using willing vessels. We have this treasure (the power of the Holy Spirit) in earthen vessels.

I am not saying that you are wrong if you are cautious. However, if you have made a doctrine out of what makes sense to your natural mind, there is no scriptural support to make it a doctrine.

There is scripture to support LIGHT>darkness as being a NT doctrine.

on the other hand i won't take the chance of allowing others 2 lay hands on me or my family when they r walking n darkness or i dont know who they r. the transference of demonic activity from one to another is very real. it is a point of contact. if we as christians can lay hands on others for healing and impartation then i think it would be presumptuous to not think it works n the negative as well. yes we r protected IF we r abiding n Jesus but why take the chance if a christian has sin n their lives leaving a opening for satanic attack....

Why would the devil gain power over you just because some sinful christian laid hands on you ? I agree with Ezekiel 33, if you are being right with God then that notion is just superstition. That doesnt mean that one should bother to go along with every such request.

Zeke, you keep throwing in these unrelated things that no one is even thinking.

As far as I know and understand, when people use the phrase, "laying on of hands", they aren't talking about the authority of the Believer in the manner you are talking about. We all understand the authority we walk in, and don't need Todd White to tell us this. That's not what we are talking about....at all. We are talking about UNDERSTANDING and WISDOM. The purpose of the laying on of hands is IMPARTATION. If someone has serious issues in their lives, why would you allow them to lay hands on you for the purpose of imparting something? I don't even understand that.....

With that said, if you want to allow just anyone lay hands on you and impart whatever, that's cool with me. I just personally don't do it, and it looks like I'm not alone.

And don't accuse those of us who actually use wisdom, of fear, paranoia, or whatever. That's really just a false accusation. I have no clue why this is even being questioned, to be honest. Why would any believer allow just anyone to lay hands on them for the purpose of imparting something? I am flabbergasted that this is even being discussed, to be honest. This is just common sense.

We are all mature Believers with good fruit in our lives. To question someone's faith by hinting that they are fearful, paranoid, and superstitious, is very disingenuous.

Okay, I see you moderated it to people you know are in darkness. I agree in the sense that at best there would be no point. Nothing good will come out of it even if there is no transfer of anything. Then there is the question of why one would bother. Arrogance is not faith and interacting with people just to be polite or something could turn into a temptation. But if someone walks up to you from behind and lays hands on you without your knowing it, whoever they are, and you are and keep being right with God, then there is no way anything happened.
