Thread: Can a Christian be Cursed?

I'm glad too. I'm also glad He has given me power over sin and I actually walk it out. Not everyone does.

Actually, as I noted, it's not only believing lies. Things are literally passed on in our DNA. We can change that. That is why you have young children acting out on their parents' lies without having a clue that is what they are doing.....it is a genetic programming. It is not just health or hair color. It's also BEHAVIOR PATTERNS we are talking about.

Again, the science of epigenetics actually explains all of this. And what I found amazing is that positive confession actually changes RNA and DNA coding. Isn't that amazing? That is probably why people are unaware they are literally breaking generational curses when they really get the Word into themselves.

Galatians 3:10,13 is Strong's 1944 (abbreviated definition exposed to divine vengeance)

Galatians means those who place their faith in works for salvation vs Jesus' redemptive work alone have opened themselves up to divine vengeance.

I believe the term generational curse has been over mystified...When believers believe a lie, they act on that lie...they sin and they expose their family to the consequences of that sin. Now if the child of that believer gets saved and believes that same lie and acts on that lie the result is the same.

BUT when someone is born again, as someone noted earlier, if they understand they are a new creation and are to surrender to the transforming relationship with the Holy Spirit and hold no allegiance to 'family' traditions when He reveals their error they walk free and point their future family in the right direction.

But each and every believer is only bound by what they believe, not by what their parents believed.

I can see the grandchild of a slave owner praying, Father I am so sorry for the sins of my grandparents...forgive me for any lies they passed down and reveal them to me and change me...

The curse of sin is broken by faith in Jesus Christ appositionally, but experientially as we grow in the truth and are transformed. In every believer this work begins at the new birth..the work of revealing lies, deceptions we embraced while we were lost, and us embracing the revealed truth that sets us free.

Can we experience negative consequences due to believing lies still? Yes...If I believe it's ok to steal from the rich because I am poor stealing is going to bring consequences both spiritually and in the natural. Is that because my parents believed that lie? NO..it's because I agree with them and embrace it myself.
And Satan is the father of lies in that area I am agreeing with him and will reap the consequences..

Holy Spirit is the most wise counselor for the new believer to embrace as He and Jesus have a personalized training program for each of us...Unfortunately some pastors and teachers try to usurp that role..

Along this line, Curry Blake of John G. Lake ministries has said that they have a team that focus on Downs Syndrome folks. They have actually seen them delivered/healed from this and their countenance even changes. They no longer have that look that comes with the syndrome. God can work at the genetic and DNA level in His children!!!

Yes, but I'm specifically talking about behavior patterns....not an actual physical thing. Behavior patterns are established and passed down, generation to generation, whether we are conscious of it or not. In the natural, we are created in our parents' images.

Our RNA and DNA receives it's programming from the cell membrane. Cell membranes are kept healthy by essential fatty acids. But....the RNA and DNA programming comes from the cell membrane, and the cell membranes gets it's signaling from thoughts, emotions, vitamins, and minerals. So when someone gets deep into the Word, and renews their minds, and speaks in faith, all of this literally re-programs RNA and DNA. It's literally scientfically proven. Cells vibrate at a certain frequency. If you want your cells to vibrate at a Christian frequency, you have to get into the Word for yourself. Again, this is all very scientific. I have a 500 page book on epigenetics and listened to one of the best research scientists in the field on the topic.

If you understand this, you'll understand the whole generational curse thing. It's really not that hard to understand.
