    The Book of Life and Blotting Out

    Kenneth Hagin believed that everybodys name is written in the Book of Life at birth.

    One is then blotted out of the Book of Life.

    Acts 3:19
    Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

    Revelation 3:5
    He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
    This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

    Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)

    Yep. I remember him teaching that. I was actually replying to you saying he taught that when I saw your blotted out remark because it was bolded but didn't read the part about Hagin first. :)

    The context of Rev 3:5 is clearly someone who is already a believer and who is being told to endure to the end or else their name will be blotted out again. It is not addressing non-believers.

    Neither verse is discussing someone who is innocent from birth and who then sins, ala Romans 7:9-11.

    Agree with Colonel as it is very clear the CONTEXT is about christians. Jesus could not be referring to unsaved

    I don't know how or when a unsaved persons name is blotted out of the Book of Life.

    Or, if the only way is that it get's written in is when one is saved.

    (Which would definitely speak to OSAS)

    It seems to me that you are promoting something that is merely Hagin's opinion. Rev 3:5 is talking about Christians enduring to the end or else their names are blotted out, that is definitely not OSAS.

    Scripture has to be in context with other scripture

    How can the whole world be CONDEMNED and yet their names automatically in the book of life - no one is righteous

    Rom 3:9 What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.
    Rom 3:10 As it is written: "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO, NOT ONE;
    Rom 3:11 THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS; THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS AFTER GOD.
    Rom 3:12 THEY HAVE ALL TURNED ASIDE; THEY HAVE TOGETHER BECOME UNPROFITABLE; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, NO, NOT ONE."

    Perhaps you misunderstood me.

    It has to be either/ or.

    Is blotting out only for the saved?

    I'm asking questions.

    Exodus 32:31-33
    (31) And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
    (32) Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
    (33) And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
    This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...

    Yes they were Israelites in covenant with him and the sin mentioned is not general but specifically their worshipping the golden calf.
