I could never LOVINGLY worship God as He is portrayed by this system.

really? so you start a thread knowing some of us will disagree, and when we do, you say they're the ones being contrary.

Basicially, agree with you or be the bad, argumentative, disengenous guy.

    That's crap VW.

You've got to admit that the idea that God is the author of all sin and evil is a pretty serious allegation.

oh sure.. which is why the the whole thing starts out to be provacative and inflammatory..

Just make it up as you go and berate anyone who disagrees with your premise.

Are we out to change anyone's minds?

One reason things are discussed is to try understand why the other person believes what he believes. No, people may not agree but knowing why they think or say something can help. In another thread we have someone continually asking where the Bible says wine is alcoholic when that's what wine is, an alcoholic beverage. Why he "wants it" to not be we haven't yet discovered.

That's why I quoted John 1 Nikos, all scripture is suitable for teaching and it seems to relate to this topic so (imo) it can't simply be ignored.

Not sure about the first sentence but the second is definitely not true and neither is the third.

Years ago I came across a forum (?ironically? run by a bloke named Troy) that was going to become the most active Christian forum around. There was one hurdle in the way of that, you had to agree with him that home churches were the only valid church model and for asking him questions re same I was kicked off the forum. It didn't last long.

    Yes "who said that?"

I don't think anyone says that He is, but scripture is scripture and if it says something it says something.

That all depends on whether or not we take your question as rhetorical :

but based on the above scripture how is something "not of God" possible?
If so then that would include all sin and evil, including the holocaust.

God did not create Good or Evil. Scriptures teach that God is Good. "No one is good except God alone" (Mark 10:18). Therefore to create good would be for God to create Himself.
Also God did not create Evil. This is the product of the gift of Free Will. Lucifer chose to rebel against God. Thus evil came into existence.

Good point. Good and evil is in the eye of the beholder. When Adam and Eve perceived good they also perceived evil in its contrast and evil was now on their horizon. How Lucifer managed to discover or find the contrast we dont know but when he embraced it he became the evil that he had implicitly found. But God didnt originally create good in a contrast to evil, he merely created.
