The doctrine that does not hold up to scripture in Acts 10 is "Baptismal Regeneration".

The moment they BELIEVED Peter as he preached the gospel message, they were saved. The gift of the Father/Holy Spirit baptism is only for the children of God. An unsaved person cannot receive the HS baptism.

The Gentiles received the Holy Spirit baptism the same way that the Jews did- Without the laying on of hands.

Water baptism is a very important step in salvation. I believe that scripture shows it to be the new believer's very first act of obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. If we truly believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Acts 8- Ethiopian & Phillip) then we have no choice but to obey Him.

If someone refuses water baptism, then we must ask, "Have they really been born again?"

While a major portion of the church has lost the importance of water baptism, there is also a part of the church that teaches baptismal regeneration, which does not stand up to the scrutiny of scripture.
