Tithing is for Mature Christians .. They need no command . They will do it without command or compulsion when they get the revelation of it

Immature Christians on the other hand -- They will spend their time quibbling over whether or not its required of them ..

Asking whether or not Tithing is commanded is like asking whether or not Communion is commanded

In Old Testament times, God's purpose for the tithes was to support the Levites. It was given to them, through the storehouse, so that they could devote themselves to their responsibility of the service of the tabernacle. From the tithes that the Levites received from the Israelites, they were also required to give a tenth part to the Lord.
Now, contrary to what you have been taught, the tithes are not meant to be limited to the local church. I've heard teaching that the local church is the "storehouse" and that the members tithes belong there. And yes, I understand that a local church has bills to pay, and the believers there will help to meet the financial needs. But God's "storehouse" today is not just a single church, or a denomination of churches, but the overall work of God throughout the world. Your giving must come out of your relationship with God. You must listen to Him concerning what and how you are to give and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in giving your tithes wherever He directs you as part of His (global) storehouse. I tithe to world missions and give offerings to local ministries (USA) when directed to do so by the Holy Spirit.

I've always tithed as a starting point in my giving, and never out of a legalistic or haphazardly direction. Nor out of loyalty (pressured) to a man, a church, a denomination or a ministry. I give tithes into the storehouse...into the body...into ministries that the Holy Spirit has led me and continues to lead me in which to give. My tithe given unto the Lord is not singular but plural, split if you will, into several different mission organizations. The same goes for offerings.

I'm a firm believer that my tithes are to be used to support the work of God in evangelizing the nations around the globe and feeding those who are starving and lack clean water in third world countries. This is where my tithe is targeted, "world missions". Maybe there are believers here who are members of LFF who tithe to support the ministers of God. Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers...God has raised up, so they can give themselves solely to the ministry of the word. And if so, perhaps, ministers of the fivefold ministry are modern-day Levites? What we can be sure of is that God has placed them within the "Body of Christ" (church) with the responsibility of building up and bringing the Body to full maturity. Wherever God has spoken to you as of what part of His storehouse He desires you to tithe too, your tithe is holy unto the Lord, and God expects you to be a good steward.
As a good steward, you should make sure your tithe is going into good soil. Where the Word of God is going forth in the power and anointing of God, where souls are being won into the kingdom of God, where people are being healed and delivered by the power of God and (my favorite) world missions. Your tithe is the key which will open the windows of heaven, and release God's blessings into your life. There are times I've been awe-stricken as God has blessed me beyond belief, in my health, in my walk, and yes, even financially. As we faithfully give our tithe, not only will we receive God's promised blessings, the ministry and work of the Lord will continue to multiply and increase in the nations of the world.
If you put God First, you have Him at Last.

Not even close bro. Communion is taught by Jesus to the disciples and then passed on to the churches through the epistles. On the other hand, tithing is only mentioned in Hebrews, and not in a passage teaching tithing, but the superiority of Christ over every earthly ministry. Also, in the account shown in Hebrews it was a one time tithe of the spoils of war. Studying what NT scripture teaches to the NT church is for mature Christians. All others are content with following the traditions of men.........

    BINGO.

And the scripture in Hebrews 7 people like to use where they say it says here we pay tithes to Jesus, is actually referring back to Melchizedek. Not Jesus in heaven.

8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

8 Furthermore, here [in the Levitical priesthood] tithes are received by men who are subject to death; while there [in the case of Melchizedek], they are received by one of whom it is testified that he lives [perpetually]. (AMP)

And if anyone wants to bring up what Jesus said to the pharisees in the gospels, that was still under the old covenant and correct for that time.
