What SCRIPTURE do people use to defend the idea that God sometimes wills us to be sick? If sickness and disease are always equated with sin, rebellion or nature isn't it wisdom to recognize it is never HIS will, only consequence?
There are several that are twisted to this effect:
Job 1 and 2 (Job was a good man).
Exodus 3 and 4 - Moses' hand becoming leprous.
Jacob supposedly being crippled by God.
John 9 and the man born blind.
2 Cor. 12 - Paul's "thorn" in the flesh (which they claim was sickness).
These are just the ones off of the top of my head.
