When Jesus said it was a good thing to tithe, then that should answer any questions. You do not have to be frightened to follow what Jesus said was good to do. You do not have to run to the law to worm your way out of obeying God. It requires surrender of the will. Simple obedience. Just forget the Levites and do it unto the Lord. If you don't want to then forget it. No need to argue it. Just let it go. You are not the only one who gets nervous about money issues.

The NT does not teach anything regarding tithing...so as I stated before, God does not seem to have changed His mind on the matter.

Now as for GIVING He has not changed His mind on that either...Both were always intended to be an act of worship and love.

The New Testament doesn't teach anything about the use of Mandrakes either so I suppose God didn't change his mind about blessing that either.

Come to think of it, the law with its regulations (including concerning tithing) has been abolished in the New Testament so it's not quite comparable anyway.

well now we r getting into the mosaic law which still has a purpose today. Romans directly addresses the the function of the law in the believers life. Paul does not however speak of us living by the law but by grace which is a better covenant. the job of the law is to convict us when we r n sin. It is the vehicle that leads us back 2 grace.

tithing places us under the law. if we really obey the law we would b tithing several different types of tithe. no thanks ill give with a grateful heart.

Romans 7:4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.
5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.
6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

We have been brought out from under the jurisdiction of the law. That is a fundamental of the new covenant. That includes its regulations concerning tithing per default. The question is where the New Testament re-includes tithing. The answer to that question is that it doesn't anywhere.

Okay so then we are left with mentions of God-instituted tithing outside the law of Moses. Which doesn't exist in the Bible.
