Jerry Falwell Jr. Is Suing Liberty University Over His Forced Resignation | RELEVANT

Last August, the current leadership of Liberty pressured Jerry Falwell Jr. into resigning following a wild tsunami of personal scandals, allegations and one infamous photo that topped Falwell's 13-year streak of leadership. Now, Falwell has announced that he is suing Liberty University, saying the school has damaged his reputation.

"We attempted to meet several times with the Liberty University Board of Trustees Executive Committee but were unsuccessful in doing so," Falwell's lawyer Robert Raskopf said in a statement. "Thus, we were forced to seek remedy for Mr. Falwell's ongoing injuries and damage to his reputation through the Court."

Falwell's reputation has undoubtedly taken some hits over the last few years, though it's hard to see how the school itself was responsible for those. You may remember the yacht photo that finally compelled the Liberty University Board of Trustees Executive Committee to force Falwell out of leadership. That photo, along with the testimony of a former business partner who alleged a years-long sexual relationship with Falwell and his wife, led to the resignation — though Falwell reportedly got out with the help of a $10.8 million parachute.

Why couldn't he just "take the money and run?" - NO class, if you ask me.

I guess 10 million isn't enough. He did this to himself.

The baptists need to send a couple deacons to his house, tell them Jr was heard speaking in tongues. No more trouble from him.

Maybe Falwell and his lawyer ought to study what Paul said about brother suing brother.

It is crazy that he would sue them for disciplining him for HIS sins. Every time he chose to sin he knew there would be consequences.

Yeah, take your $10 million, repent from your sins, and then go do something for God. Bring forth works worthy of repentance.

What a sad day to see this. I have a friend that received a masters from their, he is just amazed at what the junior has done.

I just have a hard time wrapping my mind around a mindset that says "being paid 10 million dollars isn't enough and I still want to make a fuss." If it were me I'd retire quietly on that money for the rest of my life.

Lust is never satisfied. 10 mil is chump change in his yachting circle.
