Catholic's seem to speak up against these more often than Christians, and there are perhaps two things that support them and make it possible: their creed and church discipline.
The RCC is a creedal church, and "Creedal churches have a written creed that expresses their interpretation of Scripture" (from the web somewhere but I couldn't find a direct link - it appeared when I tried credal churches - Google Search). ["Non-creedal churches believe that a Christian should be guided by Scripture and not be human creeds" (same ref) but results in things like this, "5 Reasons Why More Christians Are Becoming LGBTQ Affirming" (ref), and why? Supposedly because "More Christians are engaging with biblical scholarship than before". Yep, apparently as a result of studying the Bible more "Christians", have now realised that things that have always been sin are no longer sin. What a load of crock!]
Discipline. Not from an RCC document, from a Child's (Small Children's Catechism) we have:
Q38. What are the traits of His church? Answer: the Word, discipline, and sacraments and
Q40. How is discipline a trait of His church? Answer: God's people are protected.
because the RCC has a creed when someone is obviously out of line with that creed they can be disciplined. So on this topic, years ago, an RCC priest refused communion to supporters of sodomy.
(Interestingly the full quote the above search finds is "Creedal churches have a written creed that expresses their interpretation of Scripture as a doctrinal matter. Non-creedal churches believe that a Christian should be guided by Scripture and not be human creeds. Non-credal churches have little or no theology." emphasis mine.)
