Call it what you will Femme but if you say that God is the ultimate cause of sickness, tragedy, etc. then you have made God the agent of evil. NO amount of verbal gymnastics, often used by these men, changes the fact that God is the author of sin and evil. That leads to "blaming God" in my book. (seriously, I actually have a book coming out about this - LOL!)

Like Femme, I think "blame" is the wrong word. Was God to "blame" for Job's troubles? Well, we know He had veto power. He could have told Satan, "No, you can't do that to my servant, Job. End of discussion." But He didn't. Satan is to blame for Job's troubles, but God in His excellent mercy, arranges even the worst of Satan's plans to work into the design of His divine tapestry. We see this over and over in Scripture. We see it in Joseph, David (and his sin with Bathsheba), Ruth, and even in the life of Christ. Listen to Peter explain how the evil of man (in which they are to "blame") still works out God's eternal plan. Acts 2:22-25

"Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it."

I believe if I didn't graze in these other pastures, I'd be missing some vital nutritional element in my spiritual diet. I trust the working of the Holy Spirit in my life to sort out the meat from the bones.

According to Jesus' own teaching, that well is poisoned and you shouldn't drink from it. Everything that both of those false teachers is about is tainted by their false doctrines. Their root is bitter. There is absolutely nothing that either one of them have that you need. John MacArthur is an outright heretic and is blaspheming the Holy Spirit and spreading hatred among the brethren. Jesus didn't speak very favorably about someone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit.

I am sure that you can find everything you need from reputed full gospel teachers in the body of Christ. When you support these men by purchasing their writings, you are supporting the spreading of their poison.

It is unfathomable how much MacArthur's heresy and evil teachings are just handwaived away like they are nothing. He is a man controlled by evil spirits. And that is just the truth. I do not find Piper or Stanley to be in the same category, even if I disagree with them. Their hearts and spirits are not bitter as MacArthur's is.

I disagree with MacArthur, for sure. However, I've never seen anything near "hatred" coming from him.

No, our sin is the ultimate cause of sickness, tragedy etc.

We live in a fallen, broken world. I reject that God is an agent of evil and that's a really nasty thing to try to ascribe to me.

Here's the thing Catchy, you ascribe a lot of hate, heresy, etc to MacArthur.

He's doing that exact same thing to the charismatic community.

BOTH positions are not helpful or doing anything to build the Body.

No matter that he rejects the gifts, he still preaches Jesus for salvation.. and it's the same Jesus.

No matter that the charismatic community believes the gifts, they still preach Jesus for salvation.. and it's the same Jesus.

He doesn't just disagree with Pentecostal doctrine, he calls it and all who subscribe to it, following/promoting demons, false teaching, etc.....he is a piece of work. And I don't say that lightly. His false accusations and libelous, scandalous, claims about the brethren are demonic....only demons put those types of things in people's minds. I really pity him at the judgement.
That was what the Pharisees did to Jesus...they accused Him of being empowered by Beelzebub to perform the miracles the Holy Spirit of God was clearly doing...dangerous place to be for ANY professing believer...
